A very hard choice, but the sheer difficulty of painting that jet black skin so smoothly swayed it for me.
-
Oh my Richard... excellent work on those Miniatures but the girls are...tsssss HOT !
I keep on thinking on this ...
great work both
-
Closest match this round.
Very hard decision.
Two excellent entries
-
Argh what a tough choice >:(
Sublimely cleanly painted with radiant colours from the good Captain.
And that skin on the girls,,,,wow!!
-
Both excellent. I'm also very impressed with the skin tones on the ladies.
-
Man, if it's going to be like this every week I'm gonna have a meltdown choosing!!!
Two superb entries, the smooth vibrant colours of the Cap vs. them sweet black 'n' purple contrasts...
Is this the finals already 'cause Clashing of Titans as early as round 2 is unreal. :o
World class paintjobs gentlemen!!!
-
Both are absolutely gorgeous !!! But I like th colourful gents a bit more.
-
Excellent entries both. :)
-
I have to echo all the other comments - this is by far the most difficult choice for me this round.
Wow.
Beautiful work, kudos to both painters.
-Alex in Alaska
-
Boah those grils are crackin' :o ;D
+1 vote for you ;)
Who makes the buildings shown in the first entry? Please help!
-
Jeepers ... deadly round! :-*
-
Yeah that's really difficult.
Painting wise they're both fantastic.
I'm going to have to have to base my choice on the minis themselves.
Top work gents. :-*
-
I don't want to vote on this pairing :(
It seems a shame to pass judgement on either of these fantastic entries. Clearly great work from both painters!
-
Greetings
oh my. This one would be THE one where I need TWO votes.
The Anglo-Dutch are a colourfull group and I can't stop coming back and look at those reds and blues. And that background is not shabby either.
But those girls ... hmmm .. that limited palette is just cracking. I love it.
Thank you so much
Jo
-
Puuuh... This one is a tough choice! Both entries are really great! :-*
-
This was the hardest vote of the round for me. I eventually went for the Cult of She for their super-smooth black skin. Very convincing.
-
Super-tough call...! :o
-
Man this is tough.
This is my first year voting and I never thought it would be this hard! lol
So many lovely entries. :-*
-
Wow. Perfect execution on both entries.
-
Stunning - both entries. What a match-up, and it's only Round Two!
-
absolotely stunning - really crisp entries surely worthy of a final match and I think seperated in quality only by the size of a gnat's foreskin :o
I've voted but I'd like to know where both sets of figures came from please
-
Top job lads 8)
Love the hair on the h'officer Richard, what did you use?
-
like Sophie's Choice. :'(
Both beautiful work.
Nice take on the Valkeeri squad. I've been tempted to pick up some of those minis for a long time.
-
Another tough one, sheesh; brilliant work chaps, this is turning out to be a great LPL :)
-
This is a perfect example for the grown quality of the LPL. Last season I thought "wow, this canīt get much better" - but (luckily) I was wrong.
-
Tough call, but I had to go for the grey painting on the girls. :o :o
-
Tough choice indeed. The colour scheme of the Cult of the She is very strong and bold, great choice. But on the other hand, all those bold and crisp colours of the Anglo-Dutch Troops... Well done, guys.
-
Aaaargggh!
How can I ONLY vote ONE of these beautiful entries?
This is just no fair game to us... ;D
I REALLY need two votes.
-
Holy Dog, where's the "Both" button? I've pulled this one up three times so far, seriously can't make up my mind...
-
Pheww that was indeed a hard one!
Both are top notch!!!
-
Clash of the Titans!
The Dutch troops are really colorful, with a lot of nice details, as the red inner part of the hat or the brilliant paintjob on the metal part of the weapons. In contrast to that, the Cult of She miniatures are very smooth with outstanding faces. Compliments to both of you!
-
I totally agree! Very hip hips vs brilliant colours ... geeeeee ... maybe I should toss a coin ... or maybe I just go for evolution and vote for curves ^^
Both colour-schemes are great! Black and gay (does this still mean multi-coloured, these days?)
*sigh*
best wishes
Drachenklinge

Both are amazing .... very diffuclt choice ...
-
This one is impossible. I keep looking at the girls knees and thinking I know and then looking back at the dutch and thinking I don't.
-
Has anyone already asked who makes the 'Cult of She' figs? If not then could someone enlighten me? :)

Ooh - thanks for that. Some nice stuff on there too ...
-
Hard to choose as both are absolutely superb!! :-* :-*
Christopher
-
Blimey. I genuinely thought I'd be losing this one.
Well done Patrick - absolutely superb tones on those alien girls. Nice figures too. I think I'm in love :-*
Thanks for the kind comments on my entry. These are a few of the recent Front Rank late C17th range. I can highly recommend them, beautiful, big clean sculpts with bags of character. I have some more on the painting window sill right now, so a few more of them may appear later in this LPL :)
Love the hair on the h'officer Richard, what did you use?
Oh the same old recipe as last week's leather jacket, Chris ;) Inscribe Burnt Sienna, with Vallejo Bright Orange mixed in for highlights, and finally, a gnat's cock of white in the blend...
I keep telling people (but no-one believes me) I have barely 20 pots of paint - I use the same colours for everything all the time... I just do a lot of mixing! ;)

I would need a picture to make me believe that! Fantastic work...as always.
Cheers,
Blue

Match-up of the week! :o
Two great painters, two fantastic entries... two winners.
-
Cap'n Blood, I tip my sword to you! :D Very vibrant colors.
Great match up...glad to get that out of the way. lol

I'll have to score some of that Vallejo orange, it works even better for red hair. 8)
Yeah, I've got loads of paint pots but I only really use about 10 lol
-
Almost impossible to vote here. I love to see the beutiful miniatures, but really, I cant for my life choose!
-
This was my toughest choice of the round. Great work guys! There's so much to love in both entries.
-
As a new voter this season i found this the hardest choice so far, both groups are outstanding. I have a soft spot for the retro sci fi figures but would congratulate the brushwork of both entries.
-
I looked up the Hydra miniatures site for the 'ladies' figs and the ones here sell the product much more than the ones being used on the shop website. Apologies if you're reading this and you did them for the webshop, but the colours on these ones are inspired (yours are still better than anything I would do!). The Captain's painting has also brought out the best in the Front Rank sculpts (which I'm a fan off anyway). I'm very impressed by both entries here, it's a shame someone has to lose this one (unless it's a draw, which might still happen).
-
I'm just glad I didn't go up against either one!
Outstanding (ask a Misguided Child of Uncle Sam about that!)work both! And the winner tjhis round will truly deserve it! (Not that the second place would have deserved it any less!)

Heh. No apologies necessary.
-
I was almost crying when I voted for one of these. It ssems so unfair to the other one. That said I admit I voted for the ladies - I am a fan of subdued colors and that's what those minis show on an almost perfect level. It's really not any difference in the quality of the painting - it's more the chosen style that in the end let me choose the girls.
-
It's alright Lars. I forgive you ;)
That's an extra beer for me when i come over to Kiel in May! >:D

And a beer well-earned I have to say... :D
-
My first vote in this competition, bloody hell it's very difficult, but I went for the Dutch.
-
This one has, four full days after it was first posted, finally come down to an actual coin flip... heads it was the Dutch, tails the Cult...

I understand that! But I'm temperamentally more inclined toward Sci fi, so for me the ladies had the edge, sorry.
