Title: Making a boardwalk.
Post by: Hildred Castaigne on March 15, 2012, 11:57:57 PM
Good evening, gents!
After numerous distractions (distractions including a nuisance of a workload, forays into knights and cowboys, to name just a few...), I've decided to knuckle down and get started on the pulp project I've been planning for a while.
I'm going to start off with a small board.
A boardwalk seems to be a good place to start; they look nice, they seem playable with open spaces on the beach and some clutter along the walk itself.
Unfortunately I've never been near a real boardwalk, so I need to get a fix on what I'm building.
So I was wondering if anyone had any advice or good clear pictures of boardwalks to help me get a grasp of how to go about making one.
I've tried Googling images, but they're often a mess of pedestrians or facing out to sea.
So any advice or pictures would be appreciated!

I was just thinking about that show "Boardwalk Empire" on H.B.O.  set in Atlantic City.  That might be a good place to start in terms of colour images.

Good call!
I found some nice, clear pictures of the boardwalk set online.
