Title: Redzedīs war locomotive
Post by: Michi on March 16, 2012, 10:48:51 PM
I am really happy to be able to call myself owner of one of Shaunīs 1/56th scale German Kriegslokomotive now.
It was formerly forum member Potter 666īs model that I got unassembled second hand this week.
Thanks to forum member Panzerfaust200 to arrange that deal for me to get me into posession if it.
It is the biggest resin kit I ever started to assemble, but it is perfectly cast and superbly detailed.

This is my progress after two days:

That was Shaun, forum member Redzed, but I donīt know who owns the rights at the moment. "Die Waffenkammer" seemed to have a limited edition in their range.

That massive hunk of resin is part of my 1/56 scale range. There is a passenger carriage coming shortly, moulds in process, that was the next step in the BR-52 group project.  :)

The locomotive can be purchased directly at any time.

Come on, donīt be afraid!

I have finished the kit meanwhile, bent parts are fixed, all is glued together and incorrect wiring and piping removed.
I will have to complete the model with some additional (and proper) piping, steam whistle, lamps, handles, couplings and the like. What I wonīt do will be a further completion of the already very nicely detailed footplate and boiler:

Those driving and steering rods are still not perfectly straight, but Iīll leave them that way, because Iīm afraid to break them in the end or they wonīt fit at all:

The American 2-6-0 Mogul is dwarved by the huge German mass produced engine (nearly 7000 built from 1942-1945):

This one was shipped to Norway and survived the war. I will copy that Austrian made prototype:

Production of Kriegslokomotiven in progress (compare men and machines in size):

I must admit that I went in to town the other day, for a visit to an old model shop here in Stockholm, they specialise in Rail Modeling... they did have a BR52 in HO scale, its really tempting, but rather expensive, and hence not really on the priority list of toys at the moment. I blame you Michi, I did actually go to look for 1/48 trains.

The 2-6-0 Mogul looks just right for my 28mm Old West, do you know who produces it?

Absolutely: Bachmann Spectrum 0n30 gauge (1/48 scale narrow gauge)
Look there:

Any news of the passenger carriage? Where can I buy one BR-52 in Europe?
