Title: Looking for a Joan of Arc miniature
Post by: Golgotha on March 18, 2012, 12:06:58 PM
Looking for a 'realistic' yet attractive Joan of Arc miniature. Ideally 25mm suitable in size to use with Essex and Foundry. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many of you may find Gilles de Montmorency-Laval (1404–1440) interesting as he was Marshal of France and fought alongside her but also happened to be a prolific serial killer of children! Would also like a female burning at the stake...

I have heard that Kingmaker / Curteys are planning to extend their range to cover Joan of Arc period (to include a Joan figure) - however this was news from some months ago and so not sure if / when they'll be coming out.
Simon.

Some great suggestions...

I have the GW Repanse de Lyonnesse and she is a lovely mini, I really like both Hasslefree minis though more for fantasy as opposed historic given the long hair, likewise too the burning at the stake scene which serves well for also entertaining my peasants. The Perry is indeed a must - may need to convert one for a dismounted version.

Is that what that is! I found one in the discount bin at the Orc's Nest in London for £1 last month and just painted it up a week or so ago. Quite a nice little figure.

Just in case there's anyone who doesn't know ... this was the first mini that Michael Perry sculpted with his left hand after losing his right in an artillery accident.  Seriously inspirational.

The bottom half of the figure on the left would work well:

I used it to do the same thing for their mounted Henry V (an idea stolen from painterman) :D
