Hi again,
as some may have noticed I have just released the 3rd book covering the WW II / Pacific War theatre. (see http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=39645.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=39645.0))
I used BAM minis exclusively for the pics in the book. All minis are painted by Simon Bagery and me, the collaboration worked very well! I am sure that you can't tell who painted what... ;) ;) 8)

Great looking miniatures, as allways! I like your painting style a lot.
-
I like those a lot, one of the better new additions to the Bolt Action Range, and they look superb painted up like this
-
Super paint jobs.
The figures on your blog are great.
I always enjoy looking at what you paint up.
-
Indeed. Mighty fine Chindits!
-
Nice paintjobs and miniatures. :-*
They really have a lot of character.

Thnaks guys! 8)
...one of the better new additions to the Bolt Action Range...
So true, unfortunately not all new releases are up to par. :?

Are the Chindits a lot better than say the marines?
I want to get some Chindits and Belgians( maybe some French also) but I just got done cleaning and priming the marines and some US airborne and I must say they are ....pretty crap
In the past weeks I've done US,Brit and German paras plus the marines and it has kind of put me off the warlord figures. But I really want to try the chindits,Belgians andFrench.
-
Exactly the supplement I needed to finally get into Victory Decision. Core rules, Japanese & Chindits. Sorted. Cheers, Agis! Expect business from me after payday!

Well ... (deep breath, calming...) Well...
It depends. ::)
I was overall happy but some minis were not really good cast. In addition I do not like all of the "over-dynamic" poses. IMO BAM was better in the old days (but that is something that we old farts always say, or?). >:D
However (and this a big however) - IMO there are no better Chindit sculpts around in 28mm.
I can't speak for the Belgians or French range... 8)

You are welcome! 8)
And watch out for the Chinese and Australian books in April! ;)

Thanks for the honesty Agis.I really want to like their figures.
I hope the vehicles are better as I just ordered my first from them(5 British armored cars).

I always loved the BAM/ Warlord vehicles! Never a disappointment!
-
So there Marines are no good? That's a shame as I was going to get some.

The Marines are good, they just suffer from some bad castings and over dynamic poses that makes casting even more difficult and enhances the comic-like action hero character.
-
Nice work there Agis.

Nice to know the vehicles are good! You should have first hand experience with a couple I ordered, the Humber IV and AEC III, as I see your painted examples are on the website :)
-
Hmm. interesting. I have the Chindits, and Imo the sculps aren't as good as some of the others that I have from BAM. Oh well each to their own.
I do look forward to getting some of the other armies in time.
-
Well I got my Chindits and French,Poles and Italian Paras thanks to the Maelstrom sale.
All I have to say is Warlord REALLY,REALLY,REALLY needs to examine their casting to sculpting quality issues.
Some ranges are quite good others blow big time.

You are a talented guy.
I think your figures are superb, and your scenery is realistic without looking tacky in any way. Difficult to achieve with jungles.
I used the Japanese laser cut ferns on my jungle bases and they work well IMO.

Doing a Japanese medium tank with commander waving his katana. I intend to use the ferns on the tank to replicate cammo.

I want to order some Bolt Action Chindits and would like to know what problems with the casting some of you had?

As todays young whopper snappers might say
^QFT: this based on the metal Japanese especially, I hated building them, felt like they were gonna snap the metal was so poor.

I need to take back my earlier comment on these figures. I have recently painted up some of these models. Wow do they paint up nice. I'm very happy with my results once I applied some paint. I will be getting more of these guys for sure and dare I say it some Japanese. I know that a lot of people complain about BAM figures. But I think they are some of the nicest figures I've painted. And believe me I've painted a lot of figures in my time. Keep up the great work Warlord. My hat is off to you. :)
