Title: Hunger Games figures
Post by: HerbyF on March 26, 2012, 05:29:51 AM
I have just picked up about a dozen of the new Hunger Games figures at my local Walgreens Drug store. They are about 30mm tall or shorter. They are plastic & thin. Similar to the early D&D plastics. I have compared them to my zombies. They are a little tall & thin but I think they will work in a game. As I said I picked up about a dozen of them and didn't get any duplicates yet. The packaging says there are 27 in the series. If I get any duplicates before I get them all I think I will convert my copies to zombies. many of the poses I have so far will go nicely as zombie survivors. I'm sure some one will come up with rules to play out the Hunger Games in miniature. Looking forward to collecting a full set. BTW They were $1.99, one fugure per foil pack, around here at Walgreens drugs. I'm sure they have them at other retailers.

I bought the whole set $55 was missing one 1 figure but got it online along with the Katniss chase figure, just need the Peeta chase figure.
The figures are pretty nice all in all and can be used for civilians in other settings. A couple of them represent the smaller kids in the movie so would make good kid survivors.

Have you tried removing them from the pedestals yet?

Not yet but I have used the freezing method with clix type figure. It seems to work ok.

I think the pedestals will make good bases for some kind of incubation pod or tank.

There seem to be loads of them on eBay:

(But none yet on eBay UK)

Could be useful for all sorts of things.  But, by golly, those bases are enormous, aren't they?

The figure base is only about 20mm and maybe 3mm deep. But they are mounted on a plastic pedestal.

I assume that this is all of them:

Bizarelly, Wizkids itself doesn't seem to have a page for its Hunger Games products.

The bases are representative of the base the kids have to wait on in the Book and Movie (which as a complete fan would recommend) here are a few I found using google
