Title: WH40K Baneblade! - For Da Captain -
Post by: Galland on March 28, 2012, 02:42:55 PM
Heh

I could not resist doing this post, especially since its actually a true story. Some friends of mine play the game WH40K by Games Workshop. I dont. However, they really want me involved in this, and knowing of my fetish for german WWII panzers, they went ahead and bought me a WH40K Baneblade, a huge monster of a plastic tank for that game.
When I opend the box, I emediatly spotted a loose arm with a saber in its hand, and went... "Oh shiny, that is a pirate arm, and I have seen the perfect miniature for it". I suspected that I had the miniature somewhere in the lead pile, and sure enough there it was, a Heresy Miniatures Barbarian Hero.
Some hours later with scalpel and various files the pirate was ready for painting, I removed all non piraty bits and had to remodel his trousers and some other parts a bit, but thats all part of the hobby I say.
When I had painted it (I havent actually painted much miniatures the past years due to various reasons), I just know I had to make a post to stir the good Captain a bit :D

He will serve as a pirate and adventurer, perhaps starting out his own warband in the future!

Part of the ship, part of the crew...

Hehe, I did actually post some pics of some tanks, however, not GW ones, but proper WWII!

Totally seamless joint, nice piraty trousers and an excellent paint job. Beautiful!

£61.50 for a 28mm plastic arm seems reasonable, especially if someone else is paying for it.

Nice backstory but that pirates got Moobs! (man boobs!). Not a good look for the pirate know as Billy Big Tit's Silvermane. Big breasted scurge of the south seas!

;)

Well painted. Just ignore the chesticles. Given time enough with sword training should take care of them.

This might come as a big surprise to many of you wargamers, but young men that hang out in a very odd and mysterious place called the "Gym", might actually end up looking like this =P
