Title: Manor House Workshop?
Post by: axabrax on March 28, 2012, 03:48:03 PM
Saw an add for this Italian terrain and mini company, Manor House (http://www.manorhouse.cc/), on Tabletop Gaming News and I like the look of their medieval terrain. Did a search to find some info on them and found a thread from 2005 on TMP with numerous people complaining about the company and their inability to process orders. Anyone had experience with them more recently? Are they reliable?  Thanks!

I have a piece from them, but I picked it up from Scale Creep Miniatures in the US, so I can't comment on their reliability. I will say that the piece is very good quality, but completely lacking instructions. All you get is the picture on the box.

I also got a piece from them, but I bought it at the Spiel fair in Essen in 2006 from their booth.
It is a turret about 40cm high.
The quality is good, but sizewise it was made for 45mm (OK 40mm, remember it wrong ;)) figures, which they offered then also.

Alas I am not able to say something about their service, I thought to give some information about their work.

45mm figs? That's huge! Won't work with 28mm don't think.  Thanks for the info...

Manorhouse minis are in the 40mm scale.
I have some ruins of them, which came in the "Fast Mindstalker" Starter Box, and these are usable with 28mm minis as well ;)

But, I can just tell about these ruins, don't have anything else from them, except of minis.

In this thread on page 1 you can see 2 of the ruins, together with 28mm figs.

My company is open from 1999... so it is possible that in so many years of business some customers can not be satisfied ... :)

please note that my work is handmade, so usually customers may complain of the time it takes to get our products. but the wait is always rewarded with gifts.

about our products:
All ours items are suitable for 28-40 mm.

As you can see from the photos, our items  can not be used for miniatures higher than 40 mm,

thanks for your comment.

Hei Lorenzo,

thanks for the compliment, but the models made it easy to be painted ;)
Was happily surprised that the ruins were made out of a black plastic, so I could paint them right out of the box :)

New releases planned miniature-wise?
Maybe for a different timeline?

Hi njetkulturny.

Our products are very realistic in size.

then towers, houses and other buildings are very large and in proportion to the miniatures.

New releases are always medievals... but them can be used also for others Historic periods.
as: steampunk period, cthulhu or modern... WWII, Resident Evil, CoD Zombies... ;)

Was talking about figures, not the buildings.
If I remember correctly there have been some SiFi artworks once

sorry, I badly interpreted the question.

SiFi for moment is suspended...  is a difficult moment for the miniatures in Italy.
right now the cost of raw materials and the global crisis... not help to continued in this field.

but I'm sure things will work out soon. ;)

Hi Lorenzo

Thank you for the response. It was not me on whatever website you mention earlier; I have only posted here.

So, how long is the turn around for something like the cloister set, Church with Bell-tower and Cloister, Product Code:  MHW-MED-EDM-0004?

Also, I take it that all the sets come with instructions?

Thanks!

PS: I am unable to register on your site; it always tells me that there is a problem with my registration form.

Thanks,

Why did item weight change all of a sudden from 11kg to 16kg. Seems a bit unfair as it bumbs it into the highest shipping costs.

sorry, but the weight has been modified for a higher  robustness of the product and of the packaging.
in the week will be modified weights of others.

we had some problems with the last shipments, so we improved all.
Unfortunately, the improvement has lifted the weight of the product and of the packaging.

we can not help it, the weight gain is against our interests...
but to improve the robustness of our product and its packaging is more important to us.

regards, Lorenzo

I've been trying to contact Lorenzo to buy some Manorhouse Workshop pieces, but with no success.  Has anyone had recent contact with him?  Alternatively, does anyone else stock the range?

Hey all,

Just to chip in here. I bought a tower and a manor house (no pun intended) from Lorenzo a year and a half ago for some Gondorian scenery.

He was very responsive.  Reasonable shipping (cost and time) to California.  Instructions in the box would be nice.

I highly recommend.
