Title: More Northwest Frontier Brits from Studio Miniatures
Post by: Studio Miniatures on April 10, 2012, 11:37:10 AM
HI Guys

We have just added more British Infantry circa 1890's to our website. They are listed under the EMPIRE section of our shop. These guys are wearing the covered helmet to match packs 1-4 and were done by the talented Mr Soapy and painted by Simon Bradley. They can of course also be used for The Boxer Rebellion, The Boer War and anyother late 19th century conflict.

Up next for the Empire range will be US Marines for The Boxer Rebellion, Mounted Officers for The Northwest Frontier and the first of our Afghan tribesmen.

Excellent work there that man!
Always good to see this period - am looking forward to the tribesmen.
Oh don't forget the Gordons and Indian troops too!

These new miniatures look fantastic!
I hadn't realised Soapy was the sculptor.
And US Marines up next, you say...?  ;)

I am off to Salute this year and notice that Studio Miniatures don't have a stand. Does anyone else who is going stock your figures? Quite fancy getting a complete set but banned from using the credit / debit card ('We have to save for the baby, dear'. 'Good God, woman, then how am I to defend the Frontier?')

Superb painting on some very nice figures. That painting standard is what most of us only aspire too. Love it!

Great looking figures! Not my era (well, yet...) but one of these days I want to do some 1919-1920 Third Afghan War and other, pulpier Interwar NWF gaming, so news you're planning Pathans/Afghan tribesmen is good stuff. An 1890s Pathan can serve admirably as a 1920s Pathan, quite likely...

Circa 1890...

So would work for Sudan?

And if they would, how do the figures scale with Perry?

Sorry guys we couldnt get to Salute this year but getting things sorted for next year :)

Anyone interested in picking up minis at Salute this year though email us at sales@studiominiatures.com, Stuart is flying down for the day as a punter and could arrange to take some minis down for people to pick up as HASSLEFREE will be carrying some of our zombie character models on their stand.

No idea how they scale, but the kit and armament is different to the 1880s covered by the Perrys. Brits were using the Lee-Metford magazine rifle by this period instead of the Martini-Henri.

Nice to see figures for the end of the century though - should also fit in well for 2nd Anglo-Boer War.
