Title: Reaper Bones Werewolf
Post by: Rochie on April 13, 2012, 08:24:06 PM
Hi guys, thanks for looking! :)

Got my hands on a few of the new plastic models from Reaper, and have so far thrown paint on the werewolf, which is the start of a small gothic horror project I've been promising myself for ages;

Just a quick bit of praise for Miniature Heroes, the order was processed fast and painlessly, and the service is top notch.. I will be back for more!! :D

I read somewhere that these figures didn't need to be primed.  Did you give that a shot at all?

That's a good question!

I have one of these on order, and I'm excited to see how it works.

VERY NICELY DONE! You did a fine job bringing the Lad to life. It looks like you can't tell the difference between the plastic & metal unless you heft the mini.

A very cool mini with a equally cool PJ.  After a lot of positive feedback I must say that I'm I am intrigued by the Reaper plastics.

Cheers for all the comments guys, this keeps up I'll be encouraged to do more! :D

To answer the questions, I did prime it with Chaos Black spray,more out of force of habit, but having said that the feel of the mini doesn't have me convinced that paint would take too well, but I could be wrong! The plastic is fine, a little soft on the tail, but otherwise quite sturdy. I also have a troll, ghost, gnoll and purple worm in the queue, and out of that little lot the only areas of concern seem to be the gnolls flail and the bottom end of the ghost, that's terribly bendy, but once the models aren't being thrown around the place or chewed on they should all be fine! ;)

As for mould lines, the worst example is around the mouth of the purple worm, it's going to be quite tricky to clean that without hacking away some of the detail, but I have a plan to avoid that(just hope it works!!), but the value for money on these models more than makes up for a couple of small niggles! :)

Very nice job on what I've always considered to be a superior model.

Got a few of the "plastic" ones the other day and was a bit dissapointed of how soft they are. The big worm is okey as its realy thick but the ghost is almost like rubber.. tought when it said plastic it would be plastic and not the stuff heroclix is made of. Will probebly only buy bigger figures in this range.
