I say, Richard, that one turned out nicely!  :-*

Lovely work on the Sikh's khaki, Keith.  :)

Beautiful scene Captain- the sweaters! Nice weathering and details as well.

Keith, I'll be looking at your Sikhs when I get around to mine :)

I cannot decide.  Both are simply incredible.

Beautifully done Richard - interesting to see you tackle a WW2 theme too. Hopefully more of these to come? I can see this being extended to some commando actions in the Med.

Thanks Keith  :)

I love your Sikhs too. Think they might be suffering in the voting stakes from the 'seen 'em before' effect  ::)

Well I have almost the entire Thrilling Tales range sitting in the lead mountain, so there will definitely be some more of those at some point. Not sure about WW2 proper - not really my bag. Too much Airfix as a kid...

I love that little launch capt.  Very well done....

Thanks Blue  :)
It’s a Quaycraft 1/48 Scale 20ft motor cutter with clinker hull and transom stern, from www.model-dockyard.com (Price GBP 15.80 + VAT).
Quaycraft produce a huge range of ships’ boats in every scale from 1/192 to 1/24 and across many periods. They're highly detailed and beautifully produced resin models with brass fittings, and not much more expensive than equivalent wargames models. (Except similar wargames products tend to be pretty poor quality in comparison  ::)).

These are beautiful scale models designed for serious model ship enthusiasts. To this end, they are complete, not waterline models. So you have to sand the bottom down if you want to use them on the tabletop – which is what I’ve done with this one, although it seemed a crying shame to sand away so much wonderful detail… I’ve also left out the very nice inboard seating in favour of the practicalities of standing figures up inside the craft.

I’ll certainly be getting a few more Quaycraft boats for my Napoleonic landing parties.
Model Dockyard by the way, stock a whole load of different ranges of scale ships, boats, fittings and accessories (I got the lifebelt from there too) and were extremely pleasant to deal with. And quick.

I say, Richard, that one turned out nicely!  :-*

Thanks Chris  :)
I have to thank Westfalia Chris for the signs... I asked him to provide a few German translations of some likely harbourside instructions - and he very kindly ran me up an entire PDF full of beautiful WW2 German dockyard signs! Chris, you are a gentleman. I have used just a few here. The weathering is my own handiwork.

The quay and wall are made from Wills plastic sheet mounted on balsa blocks. Thanks also to Jimbibbly for posting me a few oil drums.

As mentioned, the figures are mostly from the Artizan Thrilling Tales range, with the exception of the guy in the bobble hat and the one in the blue pea jacket / cream sweater, who are from Brigade Games.

Beautiful painting in both entries. I love those sikhs - wonderful khaki. Those kriegsmarine are pretty damn special, though! And thanks for the rundown of the parts, Cap.

Richard, we saw some entries last year (I believe) including mine, but these are by far the best German crew I have seen to date. Keith, as always, wonderful Sikhs!

As I'd expect from you two, some superbly painted minis that are a pleasure to look at - I'd love to get painting lessons from either of you

Captain blood is a freak.

Probably not- it just appears like that because he's got this  amazing brush hand  o_o

( Mind you I don't know where Holmesdale is but it sounds like a place where the blokes are probably born with their eyes too far apart, big feet, knock knees, a spare testicle but only a single eyebrow, a hunchback, peg leg, nasty twitch, snotty nose etc.. but that's just the good looking ones that can pull the Sheilas  lol)

Awsome entries -both of them. One question though - is that girl with the Schmeisser from "Thrilling Tales" too? Can't seem to find her. If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
