Lovely stuff. What do you use for the bricks?

The bricks are just 5mm foamcore with the paper removed and cut to size. They will already have a slightly rough finish. Then just painted terracotta and drybrushed a light ochre.

Cheers,

Burkhard

Very good!
You have painted a very rarely found on the figurines camouflage. It looks quite convincing!

By the way, the dog - destroyer of tanks. On the back of the dog a large charge of explosives. These dogs were trained to blow up tanks.

I read somewhere that on the first try they trained the dogs with Russian tanks. When they were to be used in action, the dogs would not run to the German tanks but the Russian ones exploding those. I guess that is what you get if you abuse poor animals as suicide bombs!

Quote
Since the mid 30s in the Soviet Union began experiments on the anti-tank with the help of dogs.

A dog trained to quickly throw a tank, and a short distance, so that it quickly turned out to not sweep the area of the tank guns. In the dog pack laid the mines with 2-4 pounds of explosives and a special detonator.

Already in July 1941 was sent to the front of the first battalion of tank destroyers with dogs suicide. This was followed by several more. The successful use of dogs, demolition was a complete surprise to the enemy. The German command had issued special instructions to fight with the dogs - tank destroyers.

In July 1941, near Chernigov in the army of General Lelyushenko dog blew six German tanks, and in Transnistria - about 20. Especially when dogs were distinguished defense of Stalingrad. Thus, in the 62-th army special squad under the command of Major Kunin destroyed 42 tanks and 2 armored cars, and special squad lieutenant Shantsev - 21 tank.

In the future, due to the increase in the forces of anti-tank artillery, the need for the use of dogs for the destruction of tanks has decreased, the number of units of tank destroyers was reduced, and in October 1943 they were eliminated.

Service dogs, saboteurs during World War II were destroyed over 300 tanks and assault guns enemy.

But just as there have been cases is not effective application of these "dog" teams. That was then, when sent into battle is not enough trained dogs and people.
In 1941 - early 1942, it happened quite often.
