Title: Attempt at writing a Quest Scenario.
Post by: necrocannibal on May 20, 2012, 11:51:26 AM
Here's my first attempt at writing a Scenario for SA...this one might be a bit complicated and playing it needs a bit more preperation than usual. I'm not really sure this one will work, so some advice on what to change is welcome.

The Shadows are Alive!

Requirements: 1 Map Piece.
Lurkers: A maximum of two Lurkers may be used.
Set Up: The players place scenery to mutual satisfaction. The Lurker player chooses short edge and the Threshold player sets up on the opposite side, 5” in. The Lurker player draws a map of the table and sets up 10” in. Instead of placing the models on the table, the Lurker player marks the positions of the models on the map. The Lurker models are considered to be either hidden very well or camouflaged.
Special Rules: The Lurker player movements are measured in secret on the table without the Threshold player looking and are then marked on the map for future reference. If the Lurker models come into line of sight and within 5” of the Threshold models, the models are immediately revealed,  placed on the table and the game continues as normal. However, if a Lurker model creeps up behind a Threshold model and declares a Charge action, the Threshold model receives a number of hits equal to the number of attacks the Lurker model has. If a Lurker model shoots while concealed, the target gets -1 Dex when rolling ‘to hit’ (with a Dex 2+ limit), Cover Saves are still allowed. The Lurker player may at any time choose to reveal the Lurker models, the Lurker models are immediately revealed after Charging or Shooting.
Starting the Game: Both players roll a dice. Highest scoring player goes first.
Ending the game: The game continues until all of the models from one side have been removed from the table or at least half of the Threshold’s models (rounding up) move off the table via the Lurker’s short edge.
Treasure: Any Threshold model that escaped off the Lurker edge are still eligible to participate in the Post-Game Sequence. If the Lurker models have been killed the bodies may be searched instead of searching for Map Pieces. Roll on the table to see what has been found.

Sounds good, necrocannibal!

Would work best with some kind of creature like a Missing Link, I reckon.
Consider the idea filed away for future reference!

You could also do the Lurker unknown tracking using the Space Hulk concept, each figure has two tokens for example, one fake and one actual. Then each turn you can activiate tokens to move (may need to change to activiate 3 like command, until the monster is found). Once a token is in range you flip it over to see what it is.
