Hi,
just want to share some pics ( I know photo quality is very bad  ) of my
first finished future war mini with you.The others are still waiting to be finished.

What do you think of it?
Have a nice day...

Decent! An overall muddy effect, possibly due to the colour tones which are rather close to each other, and maybe you should define the eyes a bit (not necessarily paint them in - you could just darken them by using a fine brush and some watered-down paint), just to provide some "excitement".

He's a lovely figure. Looks like he'd fit in quite well with my Copplestone future wars collection... Who makes him?

Produced by em4 for their future skirmish range:

I think it is actually a very old Copplestone sculpt. Most of them are, I believe. Originally Grenadier?

Thank you for youre suggestions.
I'm not that pleased with the outcome of the face too, so I think I'll have to work on it again
The mini is made by Grenadier of their future war range, but I don't know if they are still in production

Maybe just add some shades to the recesses, and little highlights to the cheekbones. Just to add some contrast.

As jolly bob pointed out correctly, itīs a Copplestone sculpt from the FW range (which my unpainted copy of it is from, bought second-hand) and now available again from EM-4, in a pre-undercoated version. Itīs a nice "Road Warrior" type figure, methinks. Although pretty ragged.

Aha.. That explains it... I thought I recognised the boots!
Interestingly, nearly all the old Grenadier FW range (now EM4) Copplestone remade - with slight variations - in his own subsequent Copplestone Castings FW range... But he didn't remake a version of this figure, which is why I didn't recognise him...
Explains why I like him so much though!

drybrushed the clothes and highlighted the red scarf a bit more
and of course I worked on the face and the hands again
looks better to me right now

I think I need some clear varnish over the whole mini to protect the paint
Patrick.

Definitely improved! Especially the "spot of colour" in the shape of the scarf looks very good.
You should indeed varnish the figure. Note that many matte varnishs, especially the Vallejo brand, take off some of the possible roughness and generally blend in the colours for a more unified finish.

Thank you! I'll defenately have to order some varnish,
by the way, what about the clear varnish you normally use for youre car?Does that work too?
I'm thinking about the spray cans.
looking foward to post pics of the next mini tomorrow and maybe there be some progress on the terrain

Now, I donīt really like spray varnish (and havenīt used it for some 4 years), so Iīm actually not unbiased.
However, generally-speaking, other spray varnishes (ie not "modelling" products) can produce excellent results, but you have to be really careful and do some testing beforehand, since there might be unwanted reactions between the various formulae of the varnish and the acrylic paints.
I prefer to use brush-on gloss "Rubens Acryl" varnish by Nerchau, which originally is a fine arts product (ie for painting paintings... duh), but when diluted with water, produces a very nice and durable coat. Then, unless I want to keep the sheen, I paint on Vallejo Matt Varnish do take away the gloss sheen.
The Nerchau is rather good value for money (the same amount from Vallejo would cost 10+ times the Nerchauīs price), and it has a far greater yield (I still havenīt used up the 750ml bottle which I purchased back in 2005, although Iīm getting close) than Vallejo. And, if used undiluted, it is great for representing watery surfaces, such as in barrels or on model bases.

I'll have to look for that stuff on next visit of the hobby store :P
