Just thought I would post this here in case anybody has missed this:

About 3 weeks ago, Mantic put up this fundraiser on kickstarter, and it has been incredibly successful. Basically, you pledge a certain amount, it gets billed once the timer runs out (about 5 days to go) and then they build new models based on how much they have raised. As I type this, they are at about $152k (of the initial $5k goal :o). The real neat thing is the amount of swag they will be tossing in with your pledge amounts. If you pledge $225, you get a free army, the rules, extras, and one unit of all the units now being built from this project (They must have at least more than 5...) plus a whole bunch of hero models.
The next goal is $175k - they will make a demons and angels army. The concept art looks pretty cool...
Just a few days left if you want to sign up, support this project, and get a ton of free models.

Glad to see them doing so well with it. Especially so as it means they are going to be making sets of plastic Mummy figures and werewolves :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention - you can pay to buy any of the new sets they will be producing, and its buy one get one free (ie 50% off), with free shipping to UK, USA and Canada (I think)

I just heard about Mantic today, about 20 minutes before I came over to this forum. I'm currently reading through the WarPath rules they have up, as I've become more and more disillusioned with GW's 40k rules. I like the game, but it's really hard for me to find an opponent that actually wants to have a fun game and not just utterly decimate me within the first two turns.
I hope this gets funded and that they'll do the same with WarPath. The first few pages look pretty nice.

I went in for the "Sergeant" pledge but upped my total to $175 which means I think right now I'm in line for: the rulebook (hardback, electronic and mini-rulebook plus the expansion in electronic), 10 dice, a signed Lithoprint of the Mantica Map, 20 zombies, a Kickstarter exclusive Undead Skeletal Dog Handler, a limited edition Undead Standard Bearer, an Orc Chariot/Fight Wagon, 5 Twilight Kin Dark Knights, 5 Abyssal Dwarf Immortal Guard, 5 Fleabag Riders, 5 Brock Riders, 3 Trolls, 5 Palace Guard, 5 Mummies and 5 Gargoyles. On top of that, I can use the $125 over "Sergeant" towards 12 werewolves, 6 ogres, 20 more gargoyles, and 10 more Dwarf Berserker Brock Riders. I'll also get a unit of any other miniatures produced as a result of future stretch goals being reached (like the proposed Angels).
It's hard to keep it all straight. I'm not even sure I want to play Kings of War. I'm mainly in it for some extra minis to bulk out SOBH bands and for the werewolves! Kickstarter is such a seductress...

Just an FYI, it's only free postage to USA and Canada, UK have to pay the extra $15.

Europe is free too I thought? Why would UK have to pay postage, since they are shipping from... the UK??
