I dn't know how you can paint so many so quickly. It would take me a month to do thirty figs.

It's easy, I just paint them badly, takes no time at all

Yeah, right! :o

30 in 9 days! I've only painted 28 this year! looking forward to the finish.
-
Nice stuff Paul as usual. :) Are they Britannia Minaitures :?:
-
looks very nice, well done, Paul!
-
Looking good Paul. Having gone through the same project myself I know what painting all those figures can take to do!

I'm doing the next 36 at the moment, after them the Americans. I noticed from your site that we have strangely similar interests :)
Yes Nick, all Britannia. Good solid details and easy to paint. I've always like Britannia Miniatures.
-
I've just finished painting these technicals, there's some varnish effects to be added but I know people here understand the concept of a work in progress :)
Anyway, I'm exceptionally pleased with the way they turned out because I hate painting vehicles, so I thought I'd share:

Nice! Are they diecast pickups? They look really good. Chunky and workmanlike. Great painting too.
-
They're Britannia resin ones.
-
Thanks.
-
They look great Paul the weathering on the Technicals is fantastic and I like how you have handled the heavy weapons on the back so they can be removed
-
Great work Paul - very well done and very cool too 8)
God Bless
-
Wow, They look so good I thought they were die cast cars initially. Great paint job on the cars :)
-
Excellent painting on those technicals. 8)

Very nice dude.. are you going to use the crossfire rules to play that game :?: :?: :?:
-
Crossfire and Ambush Alley. Ambush Alley were the rules that inspired me to do moderns but Crossfire are my shooty-bang rules of choice so everything's based for them.
I plan to run the starting scenario in AA using both sets and compare results.
-
Very cool, sounds like lots of fun to be had. please let us know how it go's..
You realy know how to get things done, 30 figs in 9 days!!! that some going.
I get about 2 hours a day, if i'm lucky (4 kids) so its you lot, and your great projects that keep me going..
Keep up the good work, coz i love it :D :D
-
I'll do my best :)
I've been on half term this week so I managed to paint another 21 Somalis, the three technicals and make a factory. Working at a school is great
-
My mates picked up Ambush alley after your review and have thoroughly enjoyed playing it, they are now building ofrces and terrain for more games :D
-
My finished Somalis are in a small gallery. The Americans are nearly done, pics soon.

Lovely. Maybe people stifle you on the TMP due to envy.
-
Nice job on the chocolate chip camo (at least that's what we called it) for the Americans Matakishi!
-
Top stuff Paul. :)
-
Beautiful work.
I am intrigued what you use the Marmite for though.
-
Very, very nice.

Maybe a delicious yeastie shading wash technique?
I find a thin coat of Marmite to be perfect for toast. :)
-
Which of the rules seems to you mas adapted finally for this period?
-
Really like the idea of doing the vehicle gunners seperate from the vehicle.

I've based everything for Crossfire because I'll be using these rules for most things. However, I like the sound and feel of Ambush Alley and they were the rules that made me want to do moderns in the first place.
In a couple of weeks I have a friend coming round and we are going to try the same scenario using both rules so I can compare the two. I'll be writing a full report of course :)
-
That's the best-guarded Marmite I've ever seen.
-
They look great!
I'll be interested in reading your battle reports as to how the rules compare

After a splurge on the Black cat website I've ended up with loads of urban debris/trash which I've based up for booby trap markers
