Is there any interest in a Old West/Sci Fi mashup rule set? Are there any figures available for such a thing?
I'm thinking about getting back into the rule writing thing and I got some ideas...

There is an ongoing discussion concerning this game, looks promising if not on the cheap side ;)

Aberrant Games Rezolution has some suitable Minis for this Setting (CSO Marshals etc)

Reaper has only one: http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/space%20cowboy/sku-down/50068

Is this in the Cowboys and Aliens (aliens in the Old West) sense, or the Moon Zero Two sense (Western tropes in sci-fi settings - see also Outland and Firefly, of course)?

I know that Werner Klocke did a bunch of Saber Rider minis for the German DVD release of the series. They're apparently still available at http://store.voltron.com/saberrider.aspx (http://store.voltron.com/saberrider.aspx).

Whow this is new to me, thanks for the information. They will make a great gift for a wargaming Saber Rider Fan I know (with a second set propably ending up in my collection of Movie-Minis)

Does Firefly/Serenity work at all for you? Can't speak to the RPG, mind you.
Space Rangers?

Without trying to sound to obscure and dodgy - some of all that, but none of it exactly. Techno-western with a great opportunity for scratch building is the best I can describe it.

Well, there was enough interest in Pinnacle's Deadlands for it to flourish for a while, and Reaper is even now making new minis for it under the Savage Worlds brand.
But it's hard to judge these things. On the record of Gothic Horror: The Vampire Wars and Rippers, I wouldn't have expected West Wind's Empire of the Dead to take off as well as it has. At least as much depends on the actual product, and on the luck of timing, as on the genre.

This sounds very interesting. Would like to hear more

I'm definitely interested in the genre. I already got this fella and still not sure how/where to use him on the table top.

I like this idea if it were like Galaxy Rangers.
Incidentally I've never heard of the Sabre Rider & the Star Sherrifs franchise. Did it come before Galaxy Rangers or after?
