Title: Identifying a Copplestone British Naval Officer
Post by: Rob Herrick on July 10, 2012, 04:42:38 AM
The Copplestone Naval Officers offers the following five figures:

Who is the fellow with the opened short single-breasted jacket? Is he a midshipman, or a petty officer? From the descriptions I have read of naval uniforms, he could pass for either.

Thanks.

Well considering the sculpt is of a young lad, it is almost certainly a Midshipman. A Petty Officer is the equivalent of an NCO in the army, a rank that a teenager would be very unlikely to hold.

Mine is painted as a midshipman I think.

Looks 'snotty' to me, ergo a midshipman.
