All right lads, here we go! I’ve got an announcement on TMP going up on Wednesday, and I’ll send it to TGN tomorrow, but I thought I would drop a note in here and go for a soft opening.
So the store is open and I’ve tried to be as kind as possible with the shipping, but shipping prices the world over suck. There's a break at $75 where I suck up some of the shipping cost.
Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope everyone can find something they like!
I have only 40 sets of goons, I’m not sure how long they will last. I’ll restock, but only once my next production mold is ready. The masters are on the way to Soapy, but it could be a few weeks, then a few weeks at the mold makers, then a few weeks in transit. So if you want them, don’t wait around.

IT'S ALIIIIIVE! :D
-
Damm, I just blew my spending cash for this week....better get some stuff sold. :o
-
I just bought a very large batch of Pulp City figures so my superhero budget is blown for a while, but these do look great. Good luck with the new site!
-
I'm not clear on which goon heads are which (apart from the baseball caps), what are the hooded ones called?
-
They are the IRS Agent heads. Use tried to add a picture with a title of the head with each model or set of models. But this is good feedback, now I know I need to make it clearer.
-
Oh yes, I can see the little pics are labelled now. I was confused because the drop down choice menu doesn't have the heads in the order they are visible in the sprue pic but, without knowing this, I assumed it did. I would have ordered the wrong ones.
Anyway, I know now :)
I'll be getting a bunch of them, they're very nice.
-
Thanks Matakishi, I'm a big fan so that makes me happy. :)
Tonight I'll reorder the pics and drop down to match AND label the heads in the sprue picture.
-
Congrats on the store opening fergal.
Bet if feels good to finaly get there after all the hard work.
I will put it on the blog Thurs and see if I can drag some more people in for you.
-
Ditto here, I look forward to ordering from you soon and doing a review on Dice of Legends....
-
Hey Fergal,
Maybe on your site you should post up pictures from people that has painted up your stuff? Create a Gallery area...
People always like to see things painted up and with a variety of heads(including swaps from other models) I think would be a good selling point to the site.
-
That's in the plans Styx, I just need more talented painters to get their brushes out! Van-Helsing is hard at work, Soapy will be painting, I'm almost done with a set, Jay is working hard! When there are enough images out there the gallery will be in full effect!

There was some good ones here on LAF, namely that Head Swap on Wiskers...once I get mind I will post them up, if you want to steal them you can. I am not a high end painter but my stuff looks decent on a table...
-
I'd be happy to paint some up of these great looking figures for your gallery, but I'm tapped out $$$-wise right now. However I'm sure you'll have lots of submissions once people here start getting their hands on them.

Wife has me on a leash until this weekend to order anything else...payday and make sure all the Paypal stuff clears after I mail out everything to everyone.

I'm not even going to let the gf see my recent batch of receipts...I'm glad we don't share a bank account! (for several reasons) ;)

Yea. That is the problem, she is the money queen.
-
Thought I'd pop up some pics of some work that's been done with the models so far.
From Van-Helsing, I'm really liking these lads!

Some of my work, the heroes all together (missing a few, but I'm painting as fast as I can)

Whoo! Good stuff! More!

Looking great

Great painting!
-
Whooo! My order shows complete, wow, ordered late last night!
-
I'm quick ;)
-
I'm quick ;)
Looking forward to getting them...had a weird idea last night to consider trying magnets in the heads....so I can swap the heads about....
-
Placed my first order and I am eagerly awaiting their arrival! Got 5 figures--a nice mix of stuff.
-
Made a small order - just the one figure for a conversion I've been twisting round my head for ages.
However, I really like a lot of the rest of the range so will probably be back when time and funds allow. Best of luck with it! :)
-
Yea, I ordered as far as my funds would allow...I did get Everest, Hoplite, Fury, Defender, Dr. Evil, Ram Jam and Whiskers. Kinda wanted to get the Super Soldier but may wait. Not sure on the rest at this point.
-
Thanks for all the orders lads! I can't wait until you all get them so I can hear your reactions!
Jollybob, you are the first to brave international shipping for a single fig, so I popped a little something extra in there. ;) The little guy looked all lonely.
-
Lovely miniatures, ordering as I type. But, used to having variety re: head swops crooked dice, west wind, heresy etc give us a choice with the minis. I suppose what I'm saying is having to choose one head from a sprue of three is a little restrictive, especially if like me you often change project direction, which only one head choice may not support.
Not a moan just a n observation, also you'll end up with surplus of certain types of heads if you're doing a three head sprue.
Thanks
The commander.

I'm trying to do the best I can with what I've got. It's very expensive to get head sprues made, and I am a small fry. If sales ever supported it, I would gladly make them available separately.
You get every head with the heroes, but as the goons are much cheaper to buy, but no cheaper to produce, you have to choose one head ( unless you backed the project through Kickstarter ). In a few weeks, I'll set up a "head shop" for the spare goon heads.
I hope you're able to get what you are looking for in the range.

I did try to back RustI but was too late to the party. Appreciate where you're coming from, and hope fully the head shop will be up soon. Be good to get a UK distributor too, make it cheaper to order bits and bobs.
Cheers
The commander.
Oh and thanks for the pm appreciated.
-
No worries Commander, I'm working on a UK stockist as we type, just waiting on a bill from the casters to et his bill ready, then we will begin getting him stocked. Not sure how long it will take him to get up and running though.
Be sure not to miss our next running Kickstarter! I'm hoping for an October start! :)
-
Ordered mate. Cheers.

Make good business sense. If I was big into Supers I would be ordering more than I "need" indeed.
Gracias,

Got my stuff in the mail today...actually got yours and some Superfigs I ordered from FRP Games that same night and arrived on the same day.
I am going to do some reviews on Crossover and the other stuff on my blog Dice of Legends!
Plus I am going to tinker with an idea of using magnets for head swaps...I also have some Pig Iron heads I am playing with that promises some interesting swaps!
-
I just posted a few review items about Crossover if people want to learn more about the miniatures.
Namely I did a few posts about the "many faces of X"
This was just a simple snap with a different head from another figure on a different body to show how things could be when you swap heads about.
Really this is a sleeper to me that people still do not see all the cool possible mix and match ideas from the figures.
-
Great work Styx, that must have taken ages to photo! I know, I've been doing the same thing for a while, it's fun isn't it! 8) Really glad you like them. I'll have a proper read soon, it's 11:30 at night here and it's been a long day.
I can't wait see some great painted examples of the possibilities with the heads. So far Jay is the only one to mix and match to any extent, there's so much available that I haven't even thought of yet.
Thanks again, hope you have some fun painting them!!

Make sure to give it a long run, I would like to invest in some but sometimes they fall at a bad point. If it is something very cool, let us know in advance so I can save my pennies....the problem with the Oct launch is we are on a cruise late Oct to Nov for our anniv. and my wife's Bday...

Thanks, the main thing I am working through is perhaps using magnets to do head swaps to make the most out of your line. if the mags don't work, I was thinking of blue tac or some other pegging option.

Try pinning but without the glue stage.
Long pins would work better, obviously.

I was looking at that, the problem to overcome there is making it snug enough to hold the pin but easy enough to remove without falling out as you move the models. My only solution so far is to drill the holes to the same size, then go with a brass rod to fit the hole, use green stuff to even up the depth of the hole to the same length to the pin to keep it snug.

Have you considered poster buddies. It's real sticky and you'd only have to push a tiny bit into the hole for a pin to stay put.

That UK stockist is great news. Right now, ordering from the US is a nightmare here in Portugal - everything gets stopped and taxed at customs.

Yea, Blue Tac is what I call it, it works great but dries out over time. That has been an option also....

Well that's mighty generous of you, thank you very much!
I must say though, I think your International Shipping is very reasonably priced. Was happy to stump up for a small order, which I've not done with some larger companies. Hats off to you. :)

Finished the first mini from the batch I just got! I'm calling him The Shootist:

Great stuff, so you just went and glued a single head in?

Thanks! Yes. I committed. I may use rare earth magnets on the next one!

I think I am going to use Blue Tac (poster putty) swap to magnets later, appears the size I need are low and I can't recall the exact size...what size did you plan to use?

Not sure. I tossed the packaging on my supply long ago and just have all sticking to the duct work of my basement, above my work bench. So when I need one I just reach up and grab it.
The very, very small ones. If I do end up making one swappable I will do a blog post and take some pics.
-
I never envisioned anyone using magnates, I can't wait so your results guys! I'll blog it on the site and link to your blogs if you manage to get it done.
Scott,
Great work on that guy! You'll never guess who's on my painting table at the moment! Great minds and all that...

And here's another take on him that will grace the store when I get my hands on him

Wow, the painted pictures really do some justice to the figures...

Last time, I ordered what I did from my previous order, not sure if the history is still there from the last order...it has been some time...May have to just measure and guess.
Just looked this up....it is either
1/16" dia. x 1/32" thick
1/8" dia. x 1/32" thick

My painting skills are inadequate to show off the models, so Van Helsing is whipping them out pretty quick. Once I get them, they will be added to the store to show the potential of the figures. I can't wait, he's very talented!
-
Got mine today!! bought the whole set. They are great figures and really well done on both sculpting and casting, Plus a cool company to deal with, now if I can just paint them to look as good.
-
The latest pics are very cool, guys. Nice job!

Some comparison pics with Heroclix, the old West Wind, now Old Glory, Supers, Victory Force and a East Riding Slick.

Have to say well done that man, minis arrived today after only a week from the US. lovely Sculpts, clean casts. Going to enjoy painting these guys.
Cheers fergal.
ps lovely shooter, knew I forgot to order something! Oh well will have to place another order soon.
Thanks again.

I would also like to echo the Commander's sentiments - very quick dispatch and delivery, and superb clean castings. Really happy with these. :D Thanks also for the extra Goon, Fergal, I'm sure I'll be able to find a place for him somewhere!

And I just need to quote these previous experiences. I hope to do my part in the next kickstarter campaign ;)

Thanks for all the kudos guys, I'm trying really hard to get things out quick. It also helps that I've used a top notch mold maker and caster, so there is little I have to do to keep putting quality figures in the bags!
I've got my last few supers painted finally. Here is Ka-Pow, Pink Fury, and Agent Orange.

Man, I would be furious also if I had to wear pink!
Serious, great stuff!
-
Chiming in a bit late, these figures are superb. The castings are wonderfully crisp, and the head fit is light years better than I was expecting. I've had a metric ton of "add a head" figures, and it's always a loose or poor fit. These are awesome; snug fits that still allow poseability. I was hugely impressed with the figures, and I'm really glad I grabbed a bunch of the little guys.
