What an excellent collection, many thanks for putting the picutres up

Great setting, Piero, especially the safari pics.
Italians are not on the market as they are Foundry completely scratchbuilt.
For the record, Bicorne miniatures had now released an 1896 colonial italian range, with infantry, askaris and bersaglieri :love:

That'd be the thing to push me over the edge into BoB, if they get released and if they indeed have weapons appropriate for the period. However, I notice they're listed in the 100 Club under 19th century, not 20th. Are you sure they'll be 1920-30 era?

Well after 3 or 4 years I cannot be sure, but the photos I gave to Nic are of Mahsuds of 1930 period, taken from NWF a Pictorial history and other illustrated books.
however the Mahsuds tribesmen has Lee-Enfield and ammo belt on shoulders. these should solve the problem.
why don't you try to give him an e-mail? probably he will put them on sale.
cheers

Super Stuff! Well done, thanks for sharing those pictures with us.
-
Well what to say, thanks for your compliments.
or are you really polite??? :D :lol:
I'll try to post some more in the next days.
Most of my collection start around 15-20 years ago so most of figures are really old. this is well documented by the style of paint.
I have some really old figs which are really painted as wargame figures . and not with modern paint techniques. which of course is better.
but I'm purchasing new figures as well when on the market.
unfortunately the new figs are no long painted by me as I have lost sight for so small little things,

We're not just being polite, they're very nice figures! Plus big collections covering a particular period or theater are always splendid.
I also wanted to compliment you on the nice photography. You've arranged them quite nicely.

Great collection :)

Very nice indeed. I especially like the 1920s troops on the NWF. I think this is a period that has been overlooked for far too long.

Ya is true, also because gave great opportunities of small battle-skirmish level games.
it involve many different kind of troops from British rgt, to Indian Army, airplanes, trucks, armoured Rolls Royce and so on.
if interested there are lot of books dealing on such era from Naval and Military press, about the third Afghan war, operations in Waziristan , Zakka Khel and Mohmands operations.
the books worth effort because they are now at cheap prices, some years ago was impossible to find them, or you should paid hundreds of Pounds for one.

this is a list of Books dealing on NWF in the 1920 and later:
-The third Afghan war 1919;
-Operations in Waziristan 1919-1920;
-NW Frontier of India 1920-1935;
-NW Frontier of India 1936-37 .
All above compiled by the General Staff Army Headquarters India
- The Frontier Scouts by Charles Chenevix-Trench
probably the best book about ,covering from the 1900 to the last days of the Raj.
-Frontier and Overseas Expeditions from India in 7 volumes, choose the one of interest.

these are some really old shots,
3 are of a great battle , using 1:300th H&R , table of a great friends of mine living in Nottinghamshire.
the other is of a refight of the battle of Adua , still in 1:300th scale.
the battle was refought without lights, too better simulate the real start of the battle.
