Title: Colours to use for Russian VDV platoon - Help needed

Hello all,
             I am just starting a Red Star Russian VDV platoon 2008 era and i am struggling with which colours to use, i have tried a couple of samples but they dont look right any suggestions really welcome.

I've found Russian colours to be a pain, but one of the boons about the Russians is they wear pretty much anything. I will try and figure out what I used for a Russian trooper I painted recently as a test, but I'd suggest looking at a lot of Vids/pics of the 2008 Georgian war.

But as a general idea, I think if you use a basic khaki green, with a patch of brown you can't really go wrong from there... But I'll take a detailed look when i get the time.

The Russian army used many different kinds of camouflage clothing. Here's an article on this subject (in Russian language - use Google translator):
