I need to build up a small robotic army and I'm looking for options for robotic troopers. Pretty much straight up sci-fi. Nothing too retro or weird looking. Any suggestions? I need 20-30 and cost is an issue.
-
GZG have a few in 15mm which are nice. Reaper has some, Mega minis has a bunch of inexpensive robots and Star wars clix stuff you can get cheap.
-
Antenociti's have some nice robot minis. Quite clean looking if you know what I mean. Or are you after something more evil looking.

15mm.co.uk (http://www.15mm.co.uk/Automatons.htm) has robot troopers; in 15mm, not surprisingly. If you're on as budget, these might be good.

If you are on a budget, the Starwars Clix route would probably be the best way to go (you can pic up droids for pence).
Necrons (from Games Workshop) would also work but they are a bit more expensive.
I converted Necrons to get my Beetle-bots:

These aren't too expensive:

Maybe you could find something amongst them.
There are also these:

Some of which would make good little robot enemies

Sorry I should have said 28mm thanks!

If by "troopers" you mean that you want them to be generally humanoid, the plastic Viridian marines from Void might work: they are supposed to be men in powered armour, but there are no cloth or fleshy bits visible, so you could easily paint them as robotic. £5 for a sprue of five:

What about the Star Wars miniatures Super Battle Droids?:

I was also gonna suggest star wars minis, they have a lot of battle droids and super battle droids and others that you can get for around a dollar each and are still pretty readily available. Just slap a wash on them and some sand/flock on the base and they look great.
There's a few Reaper figs that would also work but are a little bit more expensive

They're no longer in production but the Therian units and mechs from Rackham's AT-43 game can still be found, usually fairly cheap, on ebay and in closout sales of many online shops

The Grymm Walkers from Hasslefree are really nice. As I don't do Grymm I intend to use them as robots of some sort.
Pig Iron Productions have war robots as well, roughly humanoid in form.

Look up Miniatures Market and check out the AT-43 clearance stuff - they still have a handful of some nice Russian styled squat power armour suits etc.

Really surprised no one mentioned Victory Forces SATYRs:

Now I feel dumb. I just ordered the Reaper ones. Might make some good ones to get though.

Sorry about that, I didn't remember theTMP post until later in the day. :'(
