Title: Storm the docks!
Post by: eladio fernandez on February 25, 2008, 09:22:16 AM
Hello everybody:

Our group weekly last game  describes the adventures of the German secret agent Ilsa Linge and her acolytes, the She-Wolves at the end of the WWII.

“April 1945, Ilsa Linge has managed to escape after the fiasco of the launch of the V3 rocket against London ( the previous game). Now she is in the the Killian submersibles bunker at the Kiel naval base trying to reach an offshore submarines to move her to Japan in company of several scientifics and ultra-secret materials, vital to continue the war after the fall of Germany. But Colonel Hill, Lieutenant Labas and Major Ternadust from the secret bureau 30AU, are following the trail of the mysterious Nazi agent and storm the docks…"

The game was played using an adaptation of the Dusty Trails rules from Dusty Dog Games, originally intended for the Old West but  very easy to adapt to Pulp and other genres adventures. This rule use a character card activation and also a shooting system using a blind bag. See below.

Another pic taking at the docks before dusk showing Ilsa and an U-boot captain:

Finally Ilsa manage to escape while the scientific kill the S.A.S. member Bob Stirling, who jumped into the motor launch; nailing his eyes with a titanium pen (sic). While in the water there's a duel between Private Kowalski and one of the German divers,

For those interested in knowing what happened I bring to you a brief summary by saying that despite the efforts of the Allies, the acolytes girls provided good covering fire allowing that Ilsa could embark on the motor launch and run away with the boxes containing the secret material and one scientist.

Part of the credit of the German victory is for the german divers armed with powerfull harpoons and also because the allies forget to take the radio station in order to call the support of the RAF coastal command.

I really like the night-time look of the thing. Very well done.

And the floating mine is great! I have a strange fascination with those round spikey mines. I don't know why, but I have always been drawn to them. I'm sure if I saw one washed up on a beach my first (and probably last) urge would be to kick it.

And not one but TWO U-Boats! U-Boats rule. You merely have to add them to a game and have them just sit there and already it lifts the whole experience to a higher gaming plane. Did I mention very good dockside scenery, too?

Very cool looking game! I really like all the work you put into the scenery. And two U-boats!

Who makes the helmeted divers in the "view of the docks" picture?

I know... old thread, but I only discovered it today...

The docks: Some of the stonework seems to be paper models? If I'm right, what manufacturer/set is it?
