On a tangential note, I'm starting to wonder at Soda Pop's business model...

The miniatures reminds me of this wee game my nephew plays called skylanders.

That's a little harsh on them, whilst stylised and not something everyone will like I've always found them to be pretty good miniatures, especially when you consider in the case of relic knights hat hey are meant to look lik they've come from an anime.

Can't say I approve of the soda pop girls though - I'm not a raging feminist by any means but it kinda pisses me off as a female gamer.

Most SP minis have been on quite the silly (and pricey, and large) side so far IMHO. The KS project has brought out a couple I might actually like, but the project itself had them bundled with all sorts of knick knacks I couldn't be bothered buying for. So I'm waiting if some of them will actually come out in the regular market as "singles".

[...]it kinda pisses me off as a female gamer.

It kinda pisses me off as a male gamer too...

I mean, really: why would I care who dresses up how to sell little man-toys in a booth at a Con?

Eye-candy on the day? Ok, whatever I guess. But a webpage dedicated to parading them about? I'm sorry, but that's just sad and kinda irrelevant to your product.

I think they are trying to play up the whole Anima subculture of cos-play, fan service and fan worship.
Personally I didn't even notice until the link to there site was posted.  lol
I was to busy looking at the mins.

Well, as I said; fine at a Con and such, but to have a webpage...? Seems a bit forced and creepy to me.

I'd like to take a gander at SPM business plan...

"Primary: making anime-style miniatures depicting busty females. Secondary: Russian Dating Service" o_o

To think of it, using the term "singles" above was a little unfortunate choice of words, given the preceeding and the following discussion.

Pretty ladies grab the attention of and ease the selling of products to the majority of gamers, who are men.

End of!

On massively tangential note, Soda Pop and CMON have decided to go and split their businesses:

The anouncement is also on their respective Facebook page, of course.

I'm sure the immense delays in KS delivery had nothing to do with this amicable parting of ways o_o

Both the company and the miniatures is way to sexist to get any of my money. I hope they change or go bankrupt.

It's interesting.  I hear that charge a lot about Soda Pop and others.  My wife loves Soda Pop minis.  She paints girl minis almost exclusively and these are some of her favorites.
