Title: GW/LotR Army of the Dead Plastics Size?
Post by: Funghy-Fipps on September 11, 2012, 10:07:41 AM
Nothing very exciting I'm afraid, folks.  I'm aware that scale-creep has been a big problem amongst GW's later LotR offerings and wanted to know if the plastic Army of the Dead models are victim of this too.  Does anyone have any comparison pics next to, say, RBG or old LotR minis?  Any help would be mucho appreciated!

I can get some pics done later on when I get back home. I have plenty of new army of the dead, metal army of the dead, LotR and Red Box figures to give a good comparison.

Now I see the pic on the big screen it's not that great, not sure if you'll be able to get what you need from this.

The guy in the middle is plastic and his pose means he leans over quite a bit, the bloke in grey is plastic and the other Army of the Dead figure is one of the metal models.

MY recollection from my days working there was that they were flipping huge in plastic.

I have some metal ones I'm not really interested in keeping. Unfortunately I got a lot of them without weapons. Would you want mine instead of getting plastics?

Thanks muchly Gutbukkit: that's actually very useful indeed.  They do look somewhat bigger than the metals, don't they?  I'm not generally too much of a nazi regarding mixing different manufacturers, but because RBG are so slight caution must be exercised!

PM sent, thanx Christian!
