Title: Making a medieval army
Post by: Lord Ekard on September 14, 2012, 07:50:51 PM
Hi to all :)

I'm making my personal crusader army for the wargame ruleset Deus Vult, than, i would like to make an army of antiochia

I need some help :)

anyone can show me some images for the colors of my infantry and knights? I saw an image of a knight of antiochia on an osprey's book, but nothing else

and, i need also some information: anyone know scheme colors of feudal armies that joined to the crusade and fought allied with antiochia? i know of armenians but not of specific feudal armies over those famous :)

thank you :D

Am I mistaken in thinking there were no standard colours for armies in this period?
As far as I know it wasn't until the 16th century that uniforms became standardised for a nation.
Before that knights and their familias wore their family colours.

Itīs a good coverall site, but double check the patterns  with another source though...I used one from there (the De Vereīs of Oxford) and it was a bit (not totally) wrong.
So far all the rest i have looked at and checked are ok..but there is a lot to look through.

What period are you going for Lord E as I might be able to help on tracking down which nobles/families you should be looking for?
