Post by: Lt. Hazel on March 07, 2008, 03:25:55 PM
Hi All!
I didn´t post anything because my cam was down. But thanks to my father he gave me his. So here´s my first hut, I´ve already painted some Arab Slavers but they will be hidden until the next LAF painting league starts
My thanks goes to lurch, owner of the http://www.miniaturicum.de/index.php , as he sold me this hut for a very good price .

Not the best. Mine has some big mouldlines. But after extensive drybrushing I think they´re covered well.

Wow, is this realy the ugly yello thing you got from me? :o

It's impresive what a base with some details and color is able to change.

I guess the bananas is actually "Kümmel" or in englisch "caraway" seeds?.

It is not an Old Glory hut, but they are very close. The OG ones are not that high.

Is that what caraway seeds look like? Finally another use for the stuff besides making akvavit! :)

Super job!  I want to live in that hut - away from all the noise and traffic of city life...

MINE
The leafs and bananas are made from green stuff, because I hate Kümmel (caraway) and there´s not a single seed in my kitchen    But I think they would give good bananas too.

Uups, as I heard by now they are old glory too.

I received two different sets and I thought one was by old glory and the other one from someone else.

But, both were OG. Sorry for confusing you.

Yes this caraway seeds looks like bananas if they are painted.

When Hammershied was looking for banana bunches he was asking me if I got some. There are some in one Foundry pack, but it's quite expensive to buy a bilster with many pieces if you just looking for the two babana bunches in there and you need a lot.

Then I started thinking of a way to scratch build them. I started with a simple roll of green stuff and started to add the the seeds around row by row.
It is not easy but it is working. Unfortunatly because of other workload I never finished them. The idea was tho make a mold a cast them.

Maybe this is something for Zafarelli to do.

I will look if I can post a picture of my start.
