Pics of the forthcoming AWI Brits from the Perry website's workbench section. Release date still TBD, but probably around the end of this year or the first quarter of 2013 :

Me neither! :/

Looks like a problem with the Perry website : I hotlinked the pics direct from the workbench section and most of them don't appear there anymore. My links are correct so it's probably a website server issue : the images should reappear here as soon as the glitch is fixed.

Brilliant!

This may be the push I need to get I to historicals! A lot of a toon occurred in my pat of the world during the AWI...and I study it extensively at work...so maybe I can convince work to get me a few sets...;)
Cheers,

Did AWI 20 plus years ago and sold off all my figures.
Seeing these figures might get me to start over.
These are really great looking figures.
Just what I need, another project. ::)
-
At the risk of sounding like a bit of a buffoon:
o_o o_o Any chance that these could pass as Napoleonic British Navy? o_o o_o
I'd love to use them as intended, just curious though.
-
No...sorry...the dress style was quite different.

Oh, drat! Still, lovely figures! :)

these won't be out for months :-)

that's what i was thinking, sadly. Most importantly, i want some American militia, which is quite more interesting than the red uniforms up there! :P

Very nice figures (Perry greens are always interesting, in a good sense of the word.)
20 years ago, I would have been beyond words.
10 years ago, I would have been ecstatic.
5 years ago, excited.
Now, with a probable 5 year pay freeze, retirement in 2016 range, no promotions in my career field except for the newbie "techno" "Jabber is a research tool" kids, and reducing large/"small scale" figure ranges such as 25+ mm... not so much. No sales from this individual even remotely likely.
Pretty much moving entirely to 1/600th as the figures come available for 19th Century armies, ACW currently and Napoleonic possibly this year.
For those who can afford (space and $$) these figures I think you will be satisfied.
Gracias,
Glenn

Still awaiting the Confederate Infantry....... :'(

I work in the Public sector in the UK, similar problems, no jobs around and retirement looming in August 2015, hence my lead shed for the days when I will have time but no money.......
-
This and those brilliant 71st highlander minis from Kings Mountain Miniatures are pushing me over the edge into AWI land.
-
They look great, patiently also awaiting on the Confederates. :(
-
joroas - Have patience. The Perry ad in Wargames Illustrated 301 (which I got an advance copy of yesterday) states that the Confederates are to be the next plastic kit coming out ;)
-
I wish I hadn't looked. Those are so tempting. :?
-
Looks like I'll be heading back into AWI again! :-*

What was that quote from Burns, "The best laid plans of mice and men aft gang alee" or some such thing? I understnad that better now than in my youth 130 or so years ago.

La-la-la-la-la, I can't hear you! :o o_o :o
They do so make such tempting figures, don't they?

Any guesses as to what the next series of plastics will contain at Perry's?
They have already suggested that they will make ACW Federals and AWI Continentals and rebel militia. The Prussian reservists seem to be MIA.
I would venture to guess - Napoleonic Hungarian Line Inf; Napoleonic British line inf march attack; British colonial Sudan campaign.

Of course ACW union with options for Hardee hats and Frock coats in addition to the usual sack coats. I think the most needed would be AWI Continentals in particular ragged ones.

Difficult to see how Perry could do both sack coats and frock coats in 1 set. Hopefully, lots of variants for headgear though.

Alas, it would difficult.
After the first Civil War set The Twins are probably keen to stick to one type of soldier and kit per box.

My fault I guess I didn't say it very well, but what I meant was a Frock Coat and Hardee Hat box in addition to the already released ones in Sack Coats.

Bloody hell. Have been trying to avoid looking at these. Have got enough AWI metals as it is.

Now that would be lovely!

Thank you for spotting that sir! An update to their site I have been waiting for for a year! 2013 = AWI year!

Now that's the best news I've heard for awhile!

Are these to be in plastic or metal?

Plastic

I am now shaking from the urge to order a box through my game store. I would love to make some Redcoats to fight through the Battle of Ridgefield.
-
Perrys crrently have the ACW Confederates due out mid-December.
-
Rebs out before Xmas, AWI British and Continentals for Salute...?

The latest advert suggests that these are about ready to go......
-
could you use these for FIW as well or are the uniforms different??
-
No, I was just adding to the general Perry thread!!!! :D
-
No but Brigade Games, Newline Design and Steve Barber all have very nice Nap navy figures.

Thanks Ghost! I've since checked them out. Beautiful.
AWI still an attractive project... :D
