Title: Church of Dagon

I had finished this church a while ago, but without the graveyard.  I wanted to build something small to fit in with my urban/Innsmouth table.  I have to give most of the credit to Grim.  He totally inspired me with his Tactica board!

The church is more Plasticville/k-line goodness.  The walls are brick sheets glued on to 1/4 inch mdf.  I was able to get some o scale grave stones and a grass mat.  I then detailed the grass with textured spray paint for the the dirt and some small pictures and posters from the net.  The side walk is picture frame matting.

I suppose I could, but you've discovered my terrible secret!  I only do the outside of buildings.  The threshold agents never make it very far in a game of Strange Aeons.

I have seen some people print wall paper designs and such for the inside, a church could be easy, glue some balsa wood to the bottom, add some pews, get a Cthulu or other Mythos style statue...you could build the pews from balsa wood also...paint the walls inside dark grey.

Wow!  I was inspired by your farm buildings to start buying Plasticville stuff.  Now I'm discouraged again thinking I can never get my church looking that good.

Was that a complete model or did you modify it?  I don't remember seeing that style Plasticville church before.  Even the windows look different.

You have to hunt around.  The first building I ever bought was Plasticville, but there are tons of other companies out there selling O scale stuff.  K-line and Lionellville have some plasticville looking buildings.  There is also Marx.  Most of it is on eBay or try web-sites like trainz or Walther.  If you need some help Black Cavalier just pm me.

The church is from k-line.  I had been eyeing it at a hobby store for 4 years.  The owner laughed when I bought it.  She never thought she would be able to get rid of it because it was discontinued.  It is one solid structure.  I bought it because it looked timeless.  I've seen it on eBay a lot.

It's surprising how little these cost. The unpainted stuff I've gotten from JR Miniatures is US $22 for a really underdetailed, but reasonably large structure like their mosque.  I think this model train stuff is actually quite a bit more apropos as well.

God love this site. Lots of great ideas and great work to look at and fiendishly copy. :)

This would probably make a better Masonic Dagon hall.  I spied it a couple of years ago but thought it was too big.
