After a slight delay due to work I have just completed my Anglican League air support.
It is a 1:48 Bristol Bulldog by SMER. Not a brilliant kit BUT very cheap and easy to build. I haven't bothered with rigging etc as it is meant to be played with not displayed. I've mounted it on extendible rod using a rare earth magnet and the base has been weighted to stop it falling over. The pilot is a slightly modified Copplestone mini.

Gladiator or Autogyro?
I'd have thought a Vickers Vimy would be more your style!
-
That's fantastic!! The painting is top notch. It's going to look great when you have it on a gaming table.
I'm proper jealous.
-
bloody nice work. I have one that need to get built.
-
Looks like it should be on display in a museum!
Who sales those telescoping rods that folks keep using for Airplane mounts?
-
My vote's for the Gladiator!

My vote's for the Gladiator!
Agreed, it sounds like a great plane although nothing says "God is my co-pilot" like a couple of Pitcairn Autogiros descending into the fray. Found a kit that has two 1/48 scale autogiros at this link - Pitcairn Autogiro (http://www.historicaviation.com/product_info.po;jsessionid=O0RO27keT73QEugQ7tleo9Mk?ID=2436)
The Bulldog is beautiful by the way...

Other possible options are the Hawker Fury, or (if you want to mix things up with something larger), an Avro Anson.
-
Very nice!!!

Nice work there! :)
My vote's for the Fury, Demon or Hart... whatever you can get hold of.
I never thought I'd be posting "The Gladiator is an attractive option, but it would totally own the sky at this time"... but that's VBCW for you...
lol

Thank you for your comments!
Commissarmoody: not sure where you would get them in the US but I bought a cheap inspection mirror from:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-TELESCOPIC-SWIVEL-INSPECTION-MIRROR-POCKET-CLIP-/130757178326?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e71bc33d6
For those interested I've put together a simple "How To" for the stand

There's something very similar with a magnetic head and no mirror available. Try searching for 'Telescopic magnet pick up tool' or something. They are somewhat more expensive, but come in various lengths and are usually more sturdy.

Amazing!!!

Thanks! I will check them out.

Commissar moody: you are welcome.
Arlequin: I know the ones you mean. I didn't use them due to cost but it is an easier alternative.
