Hello,
Here's a project I am working on those days:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/search/label/New%20federation%20project
Thank you for watching and letting me know what you think.
-
Great looking aliens (and human troopers). :o You usually do 15mm figures, but these are 28mm, right?
-
Exquisite sculpts! Very unique and creative. They look like they would scale perfectly with Infinity models.
-
I've also loved your stuff, so it's great to see you here too. I really like the work you're doing at the moment, is it for anyone in particular or just for your own amusement?
Duncan
-
Predatorpt: Yes they are.
Dijit: I do them mostly for my own amusement but I wouldn't mind selling them if I got an offer. Sure thing they'll be cast so I can have a few squads for my games.
-
Fantastic. Will you cast them ?
-

Why don't you try to do your own miniatures line? Maybe do a kickstarter/indiegogo campaign to launch it? I think I'm not the only one who would like to field a force of different alien races - a true Alien Legion ;)
-
A new try there:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/02/stealth-suit.html
Hope you like it.
Cheers,
PF
-
Love it! Keep them coming.
-
They are good, very good, but... "something" about the body/suit strikes me as odd. No oidea what yet, but will keep looking. Might just be me on Corporate/Federal Monday Morning from below subpar.
Gracias,
Glenn
-
It's not you Conquistador. The limbs were pretty thin before I added armor plates so the anatomy is a bit wrong for a human (tho you might find someone actually built like this considering the variety of human bodies).
Since this project is mostly about aliens, I hope the model will look better with a thin humanoid face or helmet.
Well, if you were thinking about something else, let me know please.
-
That may well be it. :)
You are right, I need to shift from human to humanoid alien in my evaluation of the figures. ::) In that sense these are fine. :-*
Possibly the bulk of the upper body/armor in comparison with the arms is what seems askew too. See second sentence again.
Keep up the good work.
I think it's a coin flip between putting these into production and having a unique force of figures that no one else has. Alien boutique! lol ;) :)
Gracias,
Glenn
-
I generally like the quality of the sculpts and I do appreciate the intention to introduce more aliens in 28mm since the available ranges are a bit thin in that deparment.
I also understand that humanoid aliens are a bit more accepted due to the TV/Movie overkill for having to cast human actors ;) and thus make rubber forehead aliens ;)
Nevertheless, I am personally more kind of a "hardcore SF" fan, and would love to see more non-humanoid aliens but I undertand this is more difficult to achieve
-
The vaguely ameobic thing towards the left on that pic reminds me rather of the Dralasites from Star Frontiers - they were rather groovy non-humanoid aliens in my opinion, though attempts to make them as minis are a bit problematic - this one that I found on the web is not too bad, but when I tried to make them they looked like a pile of blu-tac with an ammo-belt.

Thank you all for your comments.
Honestly, I like that character but I'm not sure about it turned into a miniature. Also, I think he is still a humanoid in shape. Perhaps with some texture or more like the one raising arms at the bottom of the drawing?
But I will make at least two non-humanoids. My "plan" for the squad being:
-two humans (male and female)
-two humanoids (two arms and two legs but not human proportions)
-two non-humanoids (hopefully weird or very weird)
Here are some non-humanoids I made in the past:
At 1:100
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/search/label/Non%20humanoid%20alien
This one at 1:56 tho he could be used for any scale
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2011/12/slaefo.html
Let me know what you think please.
-
This one at 1:56 tho he could be used for any scale
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2011/12/slaefo.html
I acually have that one, tho I know him as "Woglin Zadaggle" from ZombieSmith A7D12 line:
http://www.zombiesmith.com/products/woglin-zadaggle
Did you do the rest of their non-humanoid "travellers" too?
Anyway, I certainly wouldn't mind shelling some filthy lucre hard-earned cash your way if you managed to get some of the humans (and see no problem with the "stealth suit guy" being baseline human so no rubber forehead alien head on him plz) and non-humanoid aliens to market. Obviously subject to usual caveats such as cost etc.
-

http://www.zombiesmith.com/products/woglin-zadaggle
Woglin Zadggle is a slaefo. I mean that's how Zombiesmith called it. Mine is usually called the cyber-snail victim.
Did you do the rest of their non-humanoid "travellers" too?
I made them except the greys, the big bot and Robert Smith. Plus some others Zombismith hasn't released yet.
Still unsure about the price since I don't know if I'm going to produce them myself or not and how much they will cost me. Hopefully I'll be able to propose something for a reasonable price (well not like 10 EUR a guy +shipping).
-

I think I have all of the nonhumanoids they've released (I'm considering the ones labeled as Cyt humanoids tho, mileages may vary), including Robert Smith. They are all very nice work 8)

I can accept a bit higher price if you are selling from EU than if you are selling from US but maybe a tenner for a 28mm human is indeed a bit steep, nice as your work is. Might be quite acceptable for a complex and/or large nonhumanoid of course.
-
I must say that all your range is quiet impressive, not even talking about your skills. My admiration, sir!
-
Hello,
Here's another try at new uniform for my fed squad:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/03/alien-brigade.html
Let me know what you think please.
-
Really like those aliens. I could see myself getting some, really nice.
-

If you go all kickstater on this go 28-30mm on figs also, lotsa folks(MEEE! :D ) like 28's too.
Alien legion(Jugger Grimrod)was a favorite of mine.Oh and i loved the villains too(harkelans wasn't it?)
-
I think everything you have done are fantastic!
-
Gun bunny: They are at 1:56 scale.
-
They are awesome as usual! But in the first pictures, the shoulder pads seem too big. The knee-pads are great.
-
I have made another pair of shoulder-pads. There are slightly different and shorter but wider. The painter just told me he was prefering them so I should be able to show them soon.
-

Nice to hear it! Any ideas when you'll start do sell them? ;) ;)
-

This.
Also, the back posture of the guy with backward-pending knees is a tad too straight up. I do believe that from the biomechanical POV the back should arc more. It's quite common to just to alter the legs tho so I suppose few people will care much.
-
More like this?
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/03/second-stealth.html
-
That version looks great!
-
Gun bunny: They are at 1:56 scale.
1/56 is good to go! :)
-
More like this?
Not really, think D more than S. But your stealth suit double knee alien is still very nice. Eagerly waiting to see the nonhumanoid one.
-
Here's a painted version:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/03/painted-test.html
I hope you'll like it.
-
Still going with the large shoulderpads, I see. Great paintjob tho.
-
Looks great! ;)
-
Still going with the large shoulderpads, I see.
The painter had told me he wanted to use the other shoulder-pads and perhaps another of the heads but I don't why he went with those ones.
Well, there will be some other tests.

Stunning work, both the sculpting and painting.
-
Hello,
Some more guys for the squad. WIP: new shoulder-pads to make, more heads, more arms, more guys and possibly pouches and stuff here and there.
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/07/squad-wip.html
Let me know what you think from what you can see please.

Let me know what you think from what you can see please
The tripedal chap is quite nice. Not too keen on the humanoids or the snake fellow.
-
I really like all the aliens except for the snake guy's head - he looks like a Gremlins lol
-
The painted figure is amazing, it looks like it came off the cover of a science fiction novel.
-
Thanks.
Here are two of the smaller guys with slightly better pictures:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/07/alien-trooper-3.html
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/07/alien-trooper-4.html

Awesome! You should really cast them ;)
-
I've actually offered to buy them! I like them too.
-
Yeah i like them!

i would love to see this one in 15mm. A bit big to use as he is for 15mm in my view, but beautiful work.
-
Lovely stuff, I always love your work and these are no exception. Are they for anyone or just your own personal sculpts?
-
interesting to see that they all have the same arms dealer lol
-
They're all from the same army/corps/squad. That's also why they wear more or less the same armor.
Auxiliary scout (same army too but not same squad):

That's one of my favorite figures so far! :o
-
I'd somehow managed to miss this thread.
They're all fantastic - the latest scout (especially) is a great sculpt that manages to look menacingly alien.
If you plan to cast them up and sell them, please let us know!
-
That's one of my favorite figures so far! :o
Can only agree whole heartedly.
-
And they're in 28mm scale as well! Glorious!
-
Glad you like the scout. Especially since he has a team mate:

A third model is in the works.
Let me know what you think please.
-
I could certainly find use for the scouts, moreso if there'll be more than two poses, but they aren't my favorite "space guys". I don't think digitigrade feet and human hands go all that well together -- tho I suppose I may be in the minority with this as well, see for example
http://elementgames.co.uk/images/products/6712/6695-chaksa-auxiliars-box-of-4-tohaa-large.jpg
Also, the more @ double knee the arrangement becomes, the more the upright posture becomes problematic to maintain. But we've had that discussion already.
-
I think that the scouts are very interesting for me :-*
-
Those scouts are fantastic :-*
-
Love the scouts and please keep making multiple stances for your models! :D
-
I love the scouts, as well as the snake with legs guy from earlier. Very precise sculpting. The uniforms are fantastic, simple yet elegant.
-
Fantastic.
Please let me know when I can buy these. A one-of-each set would be great.
-
Love them :)

PS: The rock isn't really part of the model.
-
Are these going to be cast up and for sale? :D
-
they better be :D
it's not nice to frustrate people ;)
-
Not sure who's going to produce them but I certianly hope they will be on sale one of these days.
-
Please, please, please let them stay within the EU so I can get my hands on them! They're just about the best to have happened to 28mm sci-fi for ages!
What about the caterpillar one by the way? Is there going to be multiple stances of that race as well?
-
Wow! That last one is perfect!
I already liked the faces of this race. Alien yet human enough so that they can show proper emotions. Agresiveness being the main one!
But the pose of this one... A scout. No foot on a rock, no weird acrobatics... Just a scout doing his job. And his job ain't pretty.
This is a must have.
-
I'd also suggest some rifle variations, if possible
-
You know, he really looks like a scout! Great work as usual. Please cast them! lol
-
What about the caterpillar one by the way? Is there going to be multiple stances of that race as well?
Not really. I mean I had thought about making some of the guys/species again but not for squads. More like that guy as another sort of trooper or mechanic or delegate, etc.
-
Those newest guys are brilliant. I could definitely see myself building a small force of those to act as generic scifi baddies.
-

Dont know what happened to my previous post, but i think it was somthing like "Maybe i could squeeze in just a few more 28's" having abandoned 28mm sci fi for 15mm. I am tempted...
-
Yeah, the first two scouts are great, but that third one... lovely model!
-
Very sangelli like (halo covenant elites), very nice, some heavier armour/full helmet evo suits would be nice.
-
Let me know what you think about this one please:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/10/major-horka.html

-
reminds me of "Enemy Mine"
looks good
-
The last guy you posted doesn't appeal to me as much as the previous ones...and I really don't care for the head. the whole model looks a little tiny bit too stiff? I can't really explain it. Overall, not bad, and not something that would stop me from purchasing him in a blister with other minis.
-

I think that the problem is indeed in the head- the teeth just look wrong, a bit too cartoonish for the style of the figure.
-
Not my favorite either. Well sculpted tho.
-
Are the scouts for a company or they for sale? Just curious.

Final versions for the trooper 7 and 10 and two variants:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/12/new-versions.html
Thanks you for watching.
-
The worm and the four-legged guy look really spiffy 8)
Humanoid troopers look to be good sculpts too, I like the action poses on #1 and #8. But it's a really contested market so I still lack enthusiasm for them.
-
There aren't that many humanoid aliens on the market from what I know unless you mean humans.
Just a modification of a previous sculpt I had shown. I didn't like the head and thought the hands were too big:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/12/major-v2.html
-

Contrariwise my experience is that a vast majority of "aliens" in scifi games are humanoids.

The helmeted version looks great!
-
I can see that you've casted a few of them now, is that because their going into production or just because you can?
-
Hopefully they'll go into production one way or another but those were more test casts to see what needed to be reworked, added, get multiple limbs I didn't want to sculpt x times because it's boring and pointless, etc.
-
Ok, i just got a bit hopeful!
-
Hello,
Made a new one with a big gun:
Also comparison pictures of some of the previous guys:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2013/12/stealth-3.html
Let me know what you think please.
-
Technically great as usual 8)
The trooper looks good overall, tho the arms seem a bit too "tagged on". I suppose the idea is to give it an insectoid feel but still. Some sort of socket joint would work better.
The gun is IMCO too over the top in size, especially so the perforated "melta gun" whatsit at the business end. Obviously it would be easy to remove tho so it's not a huge problem, and some folks might well prefer a bit more massive weaponry than what's been shown so far.
-
very very nice work!
-
Hello,

That is a beautiful design, a bit alien but still plausibly "technological". Maybe you could add some elevators (gouvernails de profondeur) to the tail, either in a t-shape to the tip of the rudder or replace the vertical fin with a v-tail, slightly inclined towards the rear?
-

What he said ;) I vote for the T-shape at the tip of the rudder.
-
Yup upright tail needs some lateral balance.
-
One thing, though, I'd like to clarify my preference for a V-tail, as a T-elevator might make it look too similar to the Space Marine "Battle Bumblebee" aka Stormtalon. Damn, now GW go and ruin tilt-engine VTOLs for us, too. lol
-
Thank you for the suggestion: I will see what I can do.
I thought my ship looked like the hidden son of of a TIE and a tau devilsih but now that you mentioned the stormtalon, I think it looks a bit too much like it.
-

I think it's mainly due to the large engines. Could you replace those with swooping wings, maybe angled downward, which have the engines integrated? That would improve the alien aspect.
-
A mini-review of a couple of PF sculpts here:
http://heros.netai.net/files/PFaliens.pdf
-
Thank you for the review.
I'm not sure I will keep the heads and arms options. I might add some pouches here and there tho like on this one:
More pics (and well, the pouches):
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/01/alien-trooper-11.html
Best wishes to all for 2014.
-
Great range, I can not wait for their release, but I will. ;D
-
I'm not sure I will keep the heads and arms options
Two sets of arms is certainly a little excessive from the production point of view but two optional heads might be a nice incentive if these are sold individually. One alternative to consider when marketing these would be offering "mixmaster" versions of minis where you can pick any extra bitz that fit a given body for a higher price.
-
I'm a little slow on the ball this early in the year so please excuse me if this has already been answered but....are any of these on sale yet?
-
Not that I'm in on it, but am rather sure they aren't. Apparently getting there tho 8)

Next time: Loors and stealth.
-
Nice stuff. Partial to the Majalan and the Ovolo, the C'crysh and the Tabili look useful too. The rest aren't really what I'm into in regards to aliens, tho some might easily pass for a human if provided with an enclosed helmet.
-
Sans weapons they woul make a wicked lantern corp. :-* :-*

:o WHEN ARE YOU OPENING A SHOP!!!????? ???
-
These are brilliant -Sorry if I missed it in this thread, but can I buy these?? :-* if not now- in what the time frame?
They're perfect aliens for the Sci Fi project I am working on..
-
These guys are wonderful. The paint job is really great.
I can only repeat what others have asked.
Where and when can we get our hands on these miniatures?
-
When: Soon (meaning weeks or months since we're talking miniatures, ahah).
Where: No idea. I might have to release them.
How: Via Indiegogo, pre-order or just like old times.
-
I reposted the gunship I had shown some time ago on my blog. It has been modified a bit:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/02/frelon.html
The guys will have to find another mean of transport since this one will be for a french army by Khurasan at 1:100 scale. They'll just have to walk in the meantime. :D
-
Just launched an Indiegogo project for the Alien Shocktroopers Squad:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alien-shocktrooper-squad/x/6453404
Alea jacta est!
-
I'll support it as soon as I pay all my hospital expenses (middle March) :D
-
Just saw these guys, they look great! Wish they were 15mm though.
I'll have to see if finances allow a splurge.

I'm in at Scout Leader level.
I'd be willing to pledge more if individual xenos were made available as "add-ons" (or whatever IGG likes to call it), but maybe it's just not feasible.
-
Im backing at Squad Leader. After watching this project develop so nicely for so long, it would be rude not to :)
As a quick aside PF, its probably worth noting that these figures are "heroic 28mm" or "30mm" or something in the description. Not all gamers know what scale 1:54 is, plus as the URL to your blog has "15mm" in it, those two factors might scare off potential backers.
I hope that it all goes well. This range deserves to be seen: its lovely.
-
I'm backing at Squad Leader too. I love these figures. If I can help you get them to market, then I'm there.
Looking forward to watching this.
-
Thank you for the support guys.
-
Have you notified news sites yet? I don't think I spotted anything at the ones I usually visit ???
-
Yes I have submitted news to TGN and Beasts of War. I have been told they are sometimes a bit slow to put them online but I might have done something wrong.
-
I'm not sure if either of those are pay-to-post-news sites, but I suppose they should let you know if they are. The Miniatures Page I think is these days and apparently doesn't always inform the news item submitter about the fact.
-
In at Squad Leader, really hope it funds...I am really looking forward to these..
My readership is way down of late based on my lack of output but I did what I could here http://plasticlegions.blogspot.com/2014/02/alien-shocktrooper-squad.html (http://plasticlegions.blogspot.com/2014/02/alien-shocktrooper-squad.html)
-
Cool, thank you for the help!
-
I also just back at the squad leader level! I have never used Indigogo. Pierre if you could, make sure that I put the right amount in. I did not see a spot for the shipping.
Looking forward to your minis!
Patrick
-
Don't you just add the p&p cost to your pledge if it applies ???
I don't think there's ever a been "a spot" for shipping in a KickStarter either and that's how I've always done it there.
-
Backed at Squad Leader last night, so fingers crossed.
It made TGN (http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2014/02/27/85053/) and I've seen at least one blog post on it. Looks like word is getting out :)
-
Thank you for your support.
Chambersofminiatures: I had thought it would work as tnjrp described. I'll try to see how it works.
-
I will go back in and add another 5 euros. There will two payments.
I am not as familiar with Indiegogo ( first time user) as I am with Kickstarter. All of the Kickstarters that I have done have had free shipping in the USA. I never had to think about additional shipping with Kick starter.
Great minis and I look forward to you making the goal.
Thanks.
-
It made TGN (http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2014/02/27/85053/) and I've seen at least one blog post on it
BOW don't seem to be in a hurry to post a news item about it tho.
-
Hello,
I posted an update with a few quick paintings of some of the variant heads:

Hello,
For those interested, I posted a couple of more loors on my blog:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/03/loor-auxiliares-4-5.html
Thank you for your time.
-
:-*
Gimme gimme.
Can't wait.
-
PF - if this Indiegogo doesn't work out, I think you should try one with the Loors.
I can see those being a massive hit.
-
finally the loor.
these are a must have
-
PF - if this Indiegogo doesn't work out, I think you should try one with the Loors.

I somewhat doubt that but a "racially pure" unit/force would seem to be an easier sell, certainly. I'm not at all sure about the true popularity of the "Alien Legion" approach, despite some people enthusing about the subject on some forums time and again.
All the same, the total for the Shock Troopers is still going up and there is more than 20 days left so it's not quite @ sure to fail yet.
-
a "racially pure" unit/force would seem to be an easier sell
Definitely agree with this. I have a bunch of aliens from other manufacturers and, while they're very nice, I struggle to think of things to do with them other than the Cantina scene in Star Wars. Being able to put together a cohesive unit with ten or so with different poses would be much more useful.
Hopefully the Indiegogo campaign will fund, but there seem to be plenty of small companies out there who manage without it. Effigy Miniatures springs to mind - one guy, small range of figures (granted, he's closed, but that was only because he found full time work as a sculptor with another company :D).
The figures look very nice and are sufficiently different to what's out there that there should be a market for them without the Indiegogo route (personally, I'm in for a set of the loors when they appear).
If it doesn't fund, have you considered trying to sell the masters to someone like Hasslefree?
-
Its the variety of species all wearing a uniform armour type that appeals to me about this project. Granted, I dont know if that makes the range more or less likely to sell to the market as a whole, but if this project was a set of nicely sculpted and designed mono-species alien troopers I would have been a lot less likely to pledge. The Loors do look fantastic too though.
I dont know what part of the market I represent at this point, I do seem to end up painting more oddball stuff on the periphery of the projects that I engage in. I do know that I will be disgusted with the community as a whole if a small, cool project like this doesnt fund ;) Im sort of joking about that, but Im sort of not joking too.
-
"racially pure"
sorry to be a pain in the ass, but these are two words that should never appear in a sentence together (not even in SF unless used critically). Besides, it is also technically wrong (and scientifically debated too). If useful at all, the term "race" is only used for the human species.
please do us all a favour and change it to something like "multi-species", please
-
former user: I hope tnjrp won't mind me answering to you but I think we're all on the same page. I mean he used " ".
Well, we'll see if the project fails or succeeds and what happens to the loors but I tend to think people are more into units/ armies/ teams of the same species too.
As a painter or gamer, I think it's cool to have different things to paint (and well, my Bronzed Flesh is empty) or different profiles to play with.
Hopefully, I'll find enough people with the same tastes and the project will succeed.
-
just to make my point:
I did not want to imply we are on the other side, I know that we all think the same here about where racists can go (preferrably to hell) - sorry if my post allowed for this interpretation
I am also not on the "political correct" side either
I simply makes me sick to imagine what visitors this word combination in a search engine would trigger, after all we are in the open on the internet....
-
While I agree that "single-species" has less of an aftertaste to it and is more neutral, I'd advise everybody to calm down a bit, and consider that all involved aren't native speakers so thoughts might not translate as well as intended.
-

Effigy Miniatures springs to mind - one guy, small range of figures (granted, he's closed, but that was only because he found full time work as a sculptor with another company :D).
AFAIR, Effigy used a kickstarter both times he produced new figs.
@PF
I sincerely hope that the IndieGoGo succeeds, but sholud it not, pls consider putting the figs up for pre order and see if you can get the moulds made that way.
I don't really know how much it costs to get a mould made, but there's a lot of interest, especially in the Loor.
If all else fails, then I hope you'll consider selling the line to another manufacturer, for the purely selfish reason that I want to get my sticky fingers on your figs.
-
I really want this project to go through, and it has very little to do with me getting cool new toy soldiers. I mainly contributed to this because I want PF to have enough starting funds to get his business going. Don't get me wrong, I still want my goodies. I'm just more interested in seeing a talented sculptor kick start his business. (I supposed I could have said 'Indiegogo' his business, but that doesn't make any sense.)
-
Yes Please
there are by far not enough good aliens available, and a multi-species corps is simply great.
I must say I found the idea with the Lantern Corps not bad either.
Could this be solved with a set of arms? To broaden the target group?
-
Hello,
I backed this yesterday at Section leader level.
I think the "alien legion" theme is great but I fear that a lot of potential backers just don´t know about the campaign.
Perhaps someone could make a post/thread about it on on forums like dakkadakka. Some Tau players might be interested in an alien multi-species squad.
I really hope that the campaign succeeds.
-

This in spades.
That's sort of what I was getting at, as in don't lose heart if it doesn't. PF is a fantastic sculptor - hell get success sooner rather than later and hopefully with this crowd-funding project.

Do you guys know that the Alien Legion comics are back? ;)

Hello,
I posted an update for my Indiegogo project with a few combinations for new aliens:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alien-shocktrooper-squad/x/6453404?c=activity
And two pictures of my first loor with colors:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/03/indiegogo-update-and-loor-1-painted.html
Thanks for watching (and double thanks for reading considering my english :D )!

Thanks for watching (and double thanks for reading considering my english :D )!
You sculpt and paint stuff of this quality and then thank me for watching?!
The pleasure is all mine (and your English is very clear).
-
Thank you for the kind words bu well:
..."so you can see some modifications to the squad is feasible" ... lol
And there are others.;) Not to mention the syntax, the lenght, etc.
Let's say english isn't my native language and isn't taught that much in my galaxy so I suppose I have an excuse. o_o

@PF man, where were You when GW designed the Tau......
-
I've just pm'd PF, but wanted to add a public thanks for the Shocktrooper and Loor figures that he sent to me, completely unsolicited, at the weekend. The figures, although test casts, are very crisp and should paint up a treat.
A very kind gesture and much appreciated
Thanks again PF :D

I must say I found the idea with the Lantern Corps not bad either.

Cheers, I personally think it's a no brainer for lanterns or even non combatant aliens.
:D
-
@PF I've just posted about this on WAMP (http://www.wampforum.com/VB4/showthread.php?p=226072) as I hadn't seen it there.
I didn't have any pictures to post, but have pointed them to your blog
-
Hello,
Thank you zemjw.
Posted an update with a few more combinations for the squad:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/alien-shocktrooper-squad/x/6453404?c=activity
Here's one of them painted: the "death bot" version (body 3 +head 1 +arms 10).
-
Cheers, I personally think it's a no brainer for lanterns or even non combatant aliens.
:D
what, You mean it's not necessary to make extra arms?
-
Would love to see a couple of Loors included as add ons.
These would be great for games like Deadzone, Warpath, AE Bounty, Farscape, or Star Wars (the Rebel Alliance included a lot of non-human species). The variety makes them more appealing to me than if they were all the same species.
-
This IGG project indeed could use a boost of some sort as it looks to have stalled... As to what it should be is another question of course :?
-
Some painted versions of the "stealth" guy on my blog. Or not. o_o
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/03/going-stealth-mode.html
Cheers,
PF
-
The stealth guy looks great, which is what I would expect from this project. I am still hopeful that this funds: I really want a set of these figures.
-
Unfortunately, it'll take a near-miracle to save this particular project :(
Hopefully some other way will be found to produce them tho. Perhaps run a Loor-centric IGG project and put some of these out as "stretch goals"?
-
I had thought about a couple of other things but why not.
-
I had thought about a couple of other things but why not.
Well, if this IGG campaign doesnt work out (and maybe it will. Its not over yet) then keep us in the loop regarding anything else relating to these guys. I will be mildly disgusted with the miniature buying public if this doesnt succeed :(
-

I second the sentiment. I would like to own a set of these guys one day even if this campaign don't work out.
-
Might be too late, but I just posted these over on Mantic's Deadzone forum.
Would be perfect for their Rebs faction. Don't know why it took me so long to think of it.
-
Thanks for the help consectari. It has been really great to see people helping and supporting this project with posts on forums and blogs.
I'm not going to try again with the loors tho but they will available at CPModels.
Thanks again to everybody!
-
I'm not going to try again with the loors tho but they will available at CPModels.
That's fantastic news. Mark at CP is a great guy and the CP casting quality is high :D
I still want to see the Shocktroopers succeed too though.
-
I am really pleased to be able to put the Loors into production and thanks to PF as I think they are some of his best work :)
will let you know as soon as they are available
Mark
www.cpmodelsminiatures.co.uk
-
So the Loors are going into production but the shock troopers are going to be left in limbo? :?
-
Yes, that pretty much sums it up.
Thanks again to teh backers and helpers.
-
Really sad to see this one not get funded :(
Glad to see the Loors will get produced, and I shall be buying a set when they are available
-
A couple of unseen troopers there tho I think I might have showed the snake guy at the start of the project. Paintings by me. And it shows. :D
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/03/troopers-12-13-and-14.html
Thanks for watching!
-
Sorry it didn't fund PF.
However, let me know if, when and where I can pick up a full squad of these lovely figs?
@CPmodels, you need to add these figs to your range, the Loor will get lonely without them. :D
-
Really sad to see this one not get funded :(
Definitely. Very disappointing.
Glad to see the Loors will get produced, and I shall be buying a set when they are available
Well, maybe if the Loors sell well then the Shocktroopers might be considered at a later date. I know that I will channel the refunded Shocktrooper cash straight into the Loors at the earliest opportunity.
-
I was a backer as well, I thought it would fund... definitely let us know where we can get these guys in the future. They're very cool- love the snake guy, Sarigar was my favorite Alien Legion character :)
Now get to work on the Ghosts of Hefei figures :)
-
Yes, that pretty much sums it up.
Unfortunate. Loors are great sculpts but I fail to muster enthusiasm for their style. I'll just have to hope that some of the nonhumanoid shocktroopers happen to become available.
-
Hi Guys
I will be taking these Aliens over and putting them into production in the near future
Thanks to PF for a wonderful group of sculpts which we can hopefully give a good home
Now to continue in the spirit of the crowd funding project I am thinking of running vouchers for these in a similar vein to what Micropanzer studio are doing at the moment, which would give you backers the chance to get the original squads you pledged for and a little extra
This would probably run for a month while the moulds are being made and then any voucher holders would get their figures before general release
What do you think
Mark
-
I'm up for that.
-
I'm up for that.
What he said ....

Its a no-brainer for me. That portion of my hobby budget is already assigned to the Shocktroopers, so reassigning it to CP Models makes loads of sense to me.
Cool stuff :)
-
Great news!!!
I´m in!
-
Count me in. I placed a CP order about a month ago and everything looks great!
-
I am in too, please let us know when the minis are available.
Thanks
Patrick
-
Hi Guys
Thanks for the vote of confidence
I am in the process of working out the voucher program for these figures but hopefully it will run through April with the figures becoming available in early May if all goes to plan
Will keep you guys informed of my progress with this project
Mark
-
Am defo up for some Loors. Glad you got them Mark, keep meaning to put an order in for some bits . . . :D
-
Nice one Mark. You do seem to get hold of some nice little ranges u know.
Keep us posted, catch up at Salute.
-
Yeah I was bummed this didnt fund...if CP put's em out, I'll surely buy them...
-
I'm up for that
Ditto, with the usual caveats of course.
-
This was my first IndieGoGo campaign. Obviously its also my first IGG campaign that didnt fund. I paid via Paypal. Do I have to do anything to "claim" my refund or will it just happen automatically?
Does anyone know?

Some more troopers on my blog:
http://15mmspaceopera.blogspot.fr/2014/03/troopers-15-16-17-and-18.html
Okay, that should be all for this squad. I have two others in the works (wanted twenty different guys) but I'm not sure I'll finish them.
Thanks again!
-
have You ever considered trying it again in a different way with Kickstarter?
-
Some more troopers on my blog:
The two quadrupeds are my favourites of that four, although the bug and the canine are still brilliant.
Without exaggeration, this is one of my favourite of the miniature ranges that I have seen over the last few years. Im looking forward to slapping some paint in a few.
-
Thanks Cheetor.
former user: For some reason, Kickstarter doesn't seem to know or care that Europe actually includes some other countries beyond United Kingdom so I couldn't use this platform for my project. I thought about asking someone with a US or UK bank account to help me as some other french companies but it looked like it would be very complicated and I went solo with Indiegogo.
-
:o
oh, I did not realise that. damn pity
maybe You can open a UK bank account Yourself?
-
Commander, sorry cant make Salute this year :(
Great sculpts PF, if these aliens prove to be as popular as I think they might I am sure PF would be happy to do some additions to them at a later date and I would be more than happy to produce them :)
Mark
-
The two quadrupeds are my favourites of that four, although the bug and the canine are still brilliant
The quads are indeed top of the line, although I'm thinking the worm guy seen on the late IGG project may still be the best of the lot. Don't care that much for the bug chap personally but I do have a soft spot for dogboyz... Even if I tend to try to discourage people from passing "furries" off as xenos. So it goes on my want list.
-
Count me in as well. So glad these guys are going to be produced after all!
-
Hi guys
The vouchers are now live on my site
Any problems just email me
Mark
-
Im in (again) ;)
Even better, I picked up a set of Loors too.
-
I'm now a Squad Leader (and I picked the Loor scouts also) :D
-
Thanks guys much appreciated :D
Mark
-
Im in (again) ;)
Even better, I picked up a set of Loors too.
Ditto :D
-
The vouchers are now live on my site
If I buy a £10 and a £5 voucher can I get 3 x 3 miniatures with that or do I have to take a squad option?
-
I can't see a buying option on the CP site for the Loors.
Can someone post the link please.
Thanks
-
I can't see a buying option on the CP site for the Loors.
"Scout C - £10.00
Loor Scouts, 5 figures."
Can someone post the link please.
The link goes directly to the Paypal cart, but using the "Scout C" info above you should be able to find it Id say. Its on the front page along with the other options :)
-
Any questions please email me and I will try to sort it out for you
Mark
-
Thanks. I had assumed that the levels were matching the Indiegogo ones, so had just skimmed over those entries looking for the Squad Leader entry
Too early in the morning, and brain not awake enough to search for Loors on the page ;D
-
I added the three scout levels A,B & C as I thought it would be easier for people to just get which squad they wanted and cut down on having to email me which particular squad they wanted
At least that's the theory behind them
Mark
-
Three squads of five painted: a leader, a heavy weapon and a marksman in each.

great!!

They look wonderful together like that, wildly different but in uniform. Fantastic.
-
PF - aren't you going to sell the Dog headed alien? :'(
(http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-SxlKHv4iYes/Uz2FSHTlX2I/AAAAAAAABvE/ztyT65cD7xI/s1600/ASS1.jpg)

I think the idea is that if the ones that are more or less ready to go sell the line can be extended:
Great sculpts PF, if these aliens prove to be as popular as I think they might I am sure PF would be happy to do some additions to them at a later date and I would be more than happy to produce them
Also, the voucher scheme on CP Models site mentions "mystery aliens". The dog boy might be one of those, I suppose 8)
-
Just paid for 2 units and the Loors. Thanks, great stuff.
-
(http://sho3box.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/loor1.jpg?w=468)
Courtesy of PF (and indirectly CP Models) I managed to get my hands on a Loor model. I got it painted on and off over the last couple of days. The sculpts are just as nice as I expected them to be from looking at this thread. My paint job is decent tabletop quality, but I suspect that some of the painters on this forum could do some really lovely things with the crisp, fine detailing. But if you have been following this thread, then you already know that :)
Although I dont play 40K, I do plan to paint the Shocktroopers and Loor to match the Tau test piece that I painted last year (shown) and the CP Avians that I also painted with matching equipment (also shown).
The associated blog post is HERE (http://sho3box.wordpress.com/2014/04/12/loor-scout/).
-
You did a great job making those three figures look like they inhabit the same universe, very nice.
-
Yup, 2nd.
just as I thought, the loor are the true scouts for the Tau.
hmm, I am about to have an epiphany about a tau story that is set on a wilderness planet...
"The last of the Loor"...
With the Tau as stand in for the brits and the Kroot as stand in for the Huron...
-
Firstly a big thank you to everyone who has bought vouchers :)
I now have all the sculpts here and ready to send to the mould makers early next week, also for anyone following my starship crew expansion thread I will be moulding these at the same time
Paul, Wonderful painting on the loor do you mind if I use the pictures on my site
Mark
-
well, I ordered two Loor sets as well....
-
do you mind if I use the pictures on my site
Help yourself Mark :)
-
Cool! :-*
-
Just a quick update to let you guys know that the figures are with the mould maker now
Mark
-
Another update to let you guys know I have closed the voucher scheme and the moulds have arrived.
I have done some casting and will start casting and posting orders out from next week.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the scheme.
Mark
-
Sounds good, thanks for the update. You're already better than 90% of the Kickstarts I've backed :)
-
hey, this is great - can't wait to get mine
-
as soon as I have the cash I have to buy some of those CP models - they are all gorgeous :-* lovely paint jobs on them too :-*
-
Thanks aliensurfer the alien shocktroopers should be available early next month once all the voucher buyers have their minis
I am starting to pack and post voucher orders but I have quite a list to work through so please bear with me while I sort them out
Hopefully everybody should have their figures by the end of May if all goes to plan

My pack of Shocktroopers and Loor arrived this morning :)
After watching PFs sculpting thread for the last year or so I am delighted to finally have the lot in hand. The little guys (one is a "Lord of Xhaam" and the other is a different sculpt that I had not seen before) are personal favourites.
Cool stuff. Im very interested to see the paint jobs that these get from some of the big guns around here.
-
And I received my order today, great sculpts and great moulding all around! Can't wait to paint them!
-
Glad your figures arrived safely
Everybody's figures are now in the post, the last batch posted on Saturday
Any problems with anything just let me know
Mark
-
Wow seriously nice set of minis! Will have to get those asap :)
-
I got mine the other day and I am very pleased. Some time gone that I have anticipated miniatures so much
-
Glad you liked your figures :)
A quick update that I have now started to release these figures

I just received my order in mid USA. The sculpts are very cool and the cast is very clean. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to add these miniatures to my sci fi collection!
I am really impressed with the varied height of the alien models.
Great job.
