Title: The Passage Triolgy?
Post by: NickNascati on November 12, 2012, 01:22:21 AM
All,
I haven't seen any discussion of this series, so I thought I'd bring it up.  For those unaware, the premise is that a government experiment in the US goes terribly wrong and unleashes a plague of viral, vampire like creatures.  Good stuff, and certainly a great source of Post Apocalyptic scenarios.  The author is Justin Cronin

Great read. Certainly gaming fodder, altho not my cuppa. A modified survival-game like ATZ would work nicely. Special rules for 'smokes/fliers' instead of zombies.

I just got into this series, almost done with the 1st book, and have bought the second.

Enjoying it...I have been thinking abou the gaming applications as well.

I found the first book to be a real page turner. Didn't know subsequent books were out already. I'll have to get me those as well then... 8)

And indeed; excellent gaming potential, this setting. So many ideas to use; the breakout of the test subjects from the secret base, the defence of the survivor's compound and the generator outpost, the ranging patrols, the killing of the original vampire at the end of book one etc, etc.

Man; so many opportunities... :D

Good luck with the third volume. It's not due out for another year.
