After playing with Black Cavalier earlier this month and going over the rules I started pulling out anything in the pile that could be used for Strange Aeons.

Where is the P-S from, or is it a conversion?

Where can I get Betty from?

Betty is hasselfree, the proto shoggoth is rafm and now I recognize the wendigo, it is aewww3.
Can you get rafm minis in the uk? They are pretty cheap to get in the states.

Can get Rafm in the UK, but can be difficult to track down sometimes, will have to see if it available.

Made from old Wild West building castings and cardstock. I made a diamond shaped tool and pressed it into magic sculpt to make the windows. Hopefully it will be dry enough outside tomorrow to get it primed.

Oldben, don't go smashin' the Plasticville.

I did use prefabricated pieces for most of the model. At one time I was the creator/seller of the Arnica, Montana Western buildings now sold by Hawgleg. I still have a box or two of miscast resin bits that are great for stuff like this.

Here's a picture of what I started with right after I laid in some of the window panes.

The darker section on the assembled model is made the same way I made the original masters for the resin buildings. I take thin strips of card stock and glue them to foam core or eco board. The shingles are jusat individual bits glued on.

I used the Witch House in Salem as my basic inspiration.

Nicely done. I do like seeing non Hood wearing cultists. There's two minis I can't place. The man from Innsmouth and the chappy holding the Molotov. Are you planning to use the mutton chop minis as hybrids or cultists? They are a creepy bunch.

The Muttonchop stuff is great for SA.
I have a few of those that need paint slapping on them.
They will make ideal Degenerates, but I was considering using them as Hybrids with a little conversion work.
Yours look great and are a great inspiration to getting mine done. Eventually....

I've always felt that the hood is fine for the lodge but unless you're covering a serious case of "Innsmouth Look" or you're in the midst of your denouement its gauche to wear it in public. And it makes you an easy target for the good guys. How many times has an Adept of true stature faced his demise and the last words he hears are: "Alright Boys, let's give it to them hooded bastards!"

The Molotov tramp is from West Wind's Gothic Horror London Mob.

I've got some Deep Ones that just need basing and those will be up next.

We'd been warned away from the old shack by the locals which only increased our desire to investigate for ourselves. Vague hints and disturbing whispers of of the foulness of the place sprinkled through the talk of the local townsfolk. No one from town went up there.

We decided to take a look around while the sun was still shining. What we found at first seemed to be just a derelict hut in the woods. Certainly the desolate air of despair that hung about the place was a product of its isolation in these dreary woods.

The shack itself seemed tame enough. We moved around back and went in for a closer look.

The speculation of the contents of that sack drove us in closer, our sole intent became one of uncovering what it was that went on here. The light was fading. The sun seemed to be setting far earlier than it should. Perhaps it was just an effect of the closeness of the trees that seemed to crowd around the shack.

This sack would bear closer examination but the light was fading and we wanted a look inside before the sun sank entirely.

Shovels and a bucket with the foul leftovers of a terrible misdeed. As we moved around the corner to the front of the shack we heard a voice and a dim glow began to leak out from the open doorway.

There was definitely someone inside. We crept to the window to get a closer look.

We reeled in terror at the things inside. Heedless of any disturbance we might make we fled back through the woods to the safety of the road and our waiting automobile. The fate of the man we saw inside and the mournful, faceless gaze he gave us as we backed away from the window etched themselves in our minds. There would be no sleep this night.

This was a fun piece to work on, but I'm glad I can call it done.

What an awesome build!  I love the light feature.  it just goes to show you that a simple, but atmospheric build is all you really need.  I need to keep that in mind.

I love the subtle way of it. Like in a good horror movie, its what you don't see at first which feels scary.

Thanks everyone. I'm very happy with the way the little shack turned out. I've had some inquiries as to how put the whole thing together and how I got the various effects. I'll try and answer those here:

The face on the wall is a blob of brown stuff I stuck on the wall and then put the features in with a dental tool.

The tentacle is from a Monsterapocalypse model.

The poor chap in the corner started out as a Hasslfree figure holing a golf club and cel phone. His overalls were done with brown stuff.

The shack itself is something I made when I first started experimenting with resin casting. I made a master by scratching the planking lines into balsa wood.

The batten planks on the interior are strips of cardstock glued onto the resin. I used spackle to approximate the plaster.

The peeling paint effect was a lucky break. I think it is from the ink I used over the original paint job to stain it darker. It spread out and didn't cover evenly. Very serendipitous.

The backdrop was something I found on the web. I think I googled “Creepy backgrounds”.

I'm working on a few more scenes, including an outhouse to go with the shack.

I got an outhouse for 7$ from FRP games; they also sell on Amazon.com and other sites. It was a Miniature Building Authority one.

Episode 1, Dunwich

Black Cavalier's intrepid band included The Hero, The Professor, His Daughter, and The Reporter. Upon entering the small, dingy town of Dunwich the investigators were pointed out of town by a local who claimed the Sheriff was carrying on his search from Murdoch Taylor's place up by Wizard's Hill. The investigators were on their way back to their car when someone at the end of the street opened fire with a shotgun...

The end of town where the shooting started. The Agents are approaching from the top while the Lurkers lurk amongst the shoddy buildings around the Agent's car.The red chit was to indicate the Alert status of the figure next to it. The Lurkers were armed with hunting rifles, shotguns and knives. Their leader carried a small pistol and a blackjack he had ordered special from The Policeman's Gazette magazine. The opening fire from the shotgun missed but it put the Threshold agents on alert and they scattered for cover. It looked like they were going to have to fight their way out of town.

The cult leader worked his away around the building, hoping to flush the agents out into the open with some flanking fire.

Unfortunately he wasn't the only one thinking of a flank attack. The Professor's daughter was working her way around a shack, shotgun at the ready.

A pair of the cultists covered the street, waiting for a chance to shoot. One of their buddies was flanking off to the left in the hopes of getting a clear shot at The Reporter and The Hero who had taken cover behind a truck.

Oh the horror of a lack of public works funding!
The Hero was quick to take out the flanker moving in while The Reporter, who felt overexposed, thought the light was probably better indoors and moved into the hotel hoping for the opportunity of an inside shot. Meanwhile The Professor's Daughter had taken a nasty shot from the cultists and been rendered hors de combat but not out for good. The plucky damsel would certainly be back for her close up.

The Reporter got the shot he was hoping for, right out the window, taking out one of the Lurkers. The Hero and The Professor charged the leader of the Lurkers and beat him to the ground. The final Lurker, realizing his deficiencies in the ways of war, beat a hasty retreat sure to warn others of the prowess of the new folks in town.

Black Cavalier ran his own Christmas themed game for my agents which he will post in his own time. I'm really enjoying the rules and looking forward to more games soon.

Dunwich, so evil even the roads are warped.  :D

Very fun game.  Skrapwelder was very magnanimous in the final melee between the head Lurker & my lead agent & Professor.  I was looking at the wrong sheet & initially rolled 1 less attack than the Professor was supposed to have.  Without that extra attack, the Professor lost the melee & was removed. 

But when I noticed my mistake, Skrapwelder allowed me to roll the missed attack, which then won the melee & removed the Lurker leader.  This was a major turning point & assured I won the game.  & amazingly, the reporter survived the battle for the 1st time.

Be sure to check Skrapwelder's campaign rules.  He's put a lot of effort into making his own Black Dossier-type contained campaign.

Wow, great report and cool terrain.  I love the paint scheme on the buildings, sort of bluish grey.  The western buildings fit nicely.  Where are they from?

The outhouse is something I cast up a long time ago for a special Wild West game. The observer is from a Reaper familiar pack if I remember right.

The second game in our campaign turned out to be a "Retrieve the Artifacts" scenario. The search area centered around a farm and the hoped for artifacts might contain clues to the whereabouts of the missing scouts the Agents were searching for.

Continuing their search for the missing scouts, the Agent's arrive at Murdoch Taylor's farm. The sheriff's car is there but there's not a soul in sight.
As the agents move in to check out the patrol car voices can be heard from inside the barn:
"Here they come Pa! You want I should start shootin?"
"Chrissakes almighty! How many time I got to tell you not to call me Pa when we got's our maskies on? You want I should yell 'Hey Sheriff!' when you'se wearin' that hood of yours?"

The Agents returned fire from the cover of the patrol car. Meanwhile, two more cultists had worked their around from the back of the farm and were making their way towards the side of the house. The Reporter took a chance and charged the nearest one. Things didn't go so well and he ended up on the ground seriously injured.

A strange giant of a man, cloaked and masked in yellow lead the cultists. He carried a massive pair of old Colt revolvers that spat death at the agents.
"Suffer the wrath of the Yellow King!" his voice boomed across the farm and seemed to echo into the surrounding hills.

Overcome with rage at the injuries to his friend in the Fourth Estate, the Professor charged the cultist. Memories of his boxing days at Cambridge flooded back and he walloped the cultist, sending him to the ground. At the same time the Hero charged the cultist by the tree stump, knocking him down. Once in the cover of the stump the Hero fired on the Yellow clad fiend to little effect.

The Professors daughter had worked her way back to the car and fired on the remaining cultist from the back of the barn.

The Yellow giant retreated into the barn, having taken at least three solid hits from the Hero's pistol. When the Agents charged the barn he was nowhere to be found. Upon further investigation the scene at Murdoch's farm yielded little to advance the search for the missing scouts. The trip in its entirety gave rise to more questions than answers.

While searching the area The Reporter found something that one of the Drifters had dropped. A red neck scarf with a braided leather slide. "Could this belong to one of the missing scouts?" he asked The Professor.
While looking it over The Hero quickly pointed out that this neck cloth belonged to a Boy Scout and that the scouts they were searching for were part of a pack of younger, Cub Scouts. The scarf also looked far too old and worn to be of recent acquisition. Perhaps this had something to do with one of the older disappearance cases.

The Professor's Daughter came around the side of the barn. "I've found some tire tracks. It looks like they had a car or truck back here behind the barn." Folling the tracks they found a narrow lane cut into the brush that forked off of the track they used to get to the farm. The tire tracks and disturbed brush indicated that their foes had used this as their escape route.

While the Agents made ready to follow the cultists and congratulated themselves on a minor victory they mused on the strangeness of this new enemy. Whether he had anything to do with the disappearance of the young scouts or not, the Agents were certain they had not seen the last of the Yellow King.

The western buildings in the Dunwich game are all from the Arnica range. The two buildings in the Farm scenario are some of the first scratchbuilds I did for wild west gaming. The mat was made by Alfrik using a thick mastik paint/sealer called Kel seal. What Skrapwelder neglected to mention was that out of the 4 artifacts my agents were able to search, I got the "nothing useful" result on every one.

Both my reporter & the Professor got major injuries.  The reporter was horribly disfigured & is now Hideous (guess he'll have to stick to radio or newpapers).  The professor got a leg injury & only gets 1 action now.  & while the idea of a old professor limping on a cane has a good cinematic feel to it, the professor's daughter might get orphaned very soon.

I'll see what I can do about knocking out a few molds for this sort of thing. Not a lot. Maybe a couple of houses, a shack and a barn. We'll see how it goes.

Talk to Krayden or Ellsworth Adhesives; you can get samples (which are HUGE) of Dow Silastic material from them. I get samples once a year from Krayden (I used to work in the industry...know the sales guys really well) and they are happy to get samples to people because it makes them look like they're working hard.

Silastic is great but you need to de-gas it with a vacuum table (which is a simple thing to build on the cheap) so you don't get lots of bubbles in it. It's platinum and/or tin catalyzed RTV with a high durometer rating so it's very durable and cures very fast.

The third game in our campaign came up as the "Escape... Into Danger" scenario. I decided to try and play this one out as an ambush on the open road. All the agents would need to do to accomplish this mission would be to get from one end of the table to the other. I worked up some simple rules for vehicles and we were off. Vehicles had a base speed of about 10 inches and could go a bit faster if they wanted to tempt fate and make a Dex roll. Owing to the speed with which the cars were able to move we made the table twice as long, six feet.

Here's the table as we started. The Agents were given the choice of a car or a truck. Each had its minor advantages and disadvantages over the other. The Agents chose the truck, putting The Reporter behind the Wheel with The Professor riding shotgun. The Hero and The Professor's Daughter clambered into the back of the truck. The Hero got a bit of a slap as he made a joke about getting into the bed together.

The Lurkers, part of the Delapore gang had a car of their own and were speeding to the crossroads in an attempt to cut the Agents off and deal with them here in the woods. One of the Lurkers had sneaked ahead on foot and placed himself and in cover at the crossroads.

The Lurkers managed to get to the crossroads first, blocking the way with their car. The Reporter was driving hell bent and made no signs of slowing or stopping.

Lest they be caught in a car wreck, the Lurkers poured out of the car, guns blazing. One lucky shot caught The Professor's Daughter and she tumbled to the floor of the truck's bed.

The Reporter swerved hard to avoid the Lurker's car. Lead poured down like rain and the truck might as well have been a touring car. Just after making the heroic turn The Reporter took a slug in the shoulder. The Professor lunged to grab the wheel...

... to no avail. The truck caught a rut in the side of the main road and rolled on a ways before slamming to a stop on a large boulder.

The Delapore boys were caught flat-footed. The truck had sped by them. They moved quickly to bring more fire down on the speeding truck.

Grabbing the wounded, The Professor and The Hero made their escape off the edge of the board and into the cover of the woods. Townies that the Delapore's were they would be wary of going into the woods to hunt them down. Content to have left them on foot in the wilderness the Lurker's made their way back to Dunwich to report to their superiors.

The Professor quickly patched up the wounded and assayed the situation. Now on foot, and with no new clues as to the whereabouts of the missing scouts, the Agents decided to continue making their way along the track that the mysterious stranger calling himself the Yellow King had escaped along after the shoot out at the farm. Who knows what they will find ahead, or what will find them, in the woods of the Myskatonic valley.
