Title: Rural figures?
Post by: Black Cavalier on November 26, 2012, 04:17:57 AM
In my 1st Strange Aeons game that I posted about last week, I used some standard gangster figures as my moonshining gang.  But I'd would have like to have more back-woods rural types instead.

Any idea of who makes some?  I'm thinking of the people who would have actually made the moonshine, instead of the people that bought it from them & resold it in the speak-easys.

Thanks

Foundry's Ride with the Devil figures are nicely country and generic. I have 2 dozen available anytime you could use them.

They look quite good for british rural types. Looking at the painted poliecemen Im rather dubious of the sculpting quality but 90p a minis not to be sniffed at.

I think the Blue Moon "Hatfields" and "McCoys" are my favorite hicks. And as I'm currently living in Kentucky, I consider myself an expert. After all, in Kentucky the most common pillow talk is "Git off me paw, yer crushin' my Marlboros"

But, the "It Came From Beyond The Still" miniatures are quite nice:

Yeap, I've used some the "Bluemoon" McCluckys as part of a Strange Aeon lurker group, ideal as Bootlegger types, too; only critism is the two lanky chaps, top row, #2 and #3 from lerft are well tall (about 35mm) - must be something in the genes?

I think some of 'The Midnight Riders' (http://www.ravenpainting.co.uk/) might be generic enough to fit in?

CP miniatures has some good rural minis.  They are usually on eBay.

Thanks all for the great ideas.

6milPhil, I believe I may be facing that Weasley gang tomorrow night since Skrapwelder posted pictures of his version painted up.

& thanks a lot Vern for my next week's quote of nightmares.  The Devil's Rejects in miniature is not something I needed to know about.  lol

I'm now wondering if I got around to painting mine yet. The MC figures are cracking.

Aha!
Is this where the front of house staff at the Butchers came from?
