Title: A potential new kickstarter: early 18th C. female soldiers
Post by: abdul666lw on November 28, 2012, 09:22:42 PM
Posted here rather than on the 'Age of Big Battalions' board because they would be totally 'unhistorical', but could appear in Pirates and Swashbuckling games.
Achtung! Links to threads with some NSFW illos! :o You were warned! Don't come back >:( or  :'(

A brother wargamer is to release a range of War of Spanish Succession era Female Imagi-Nations 28mm figures (some in full regular uniform, some more... relaxed) and is 'putting out feelers' to discover if it would be worth launching a 'kickstarter' to speed up the process. His project (and asking for suggestions) is posted  there on TMP (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=288177).

What pushed him to 'take the plunge' is the interest aroused on the 18th C. forum by another venture, the RastWorld Minis 'winsome Napoleonics' (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=288051) (suggestions also asked for there).
This in turn was a development of two previous threads about existing ranges of 18th c. female soldiers, the 28mm Eureka Minis 'Sandra' range (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=249743) and the  1/72 3D Models (http://www.cw-toys.de/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id=18&Itemid=55)  (provisionally sold by Toys & More  (http://www.cw-toys.de/)) 1/72 female artillery and infantry (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=283167) (together with '3 French beauties')

If you are interested or merely intrigued, by the War of Spanish Succession era Female Imagi-Nations 28mm figures take a look, please post any comment or suggestion there (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=288177)
(similarly for future RastWorld Minis, the range can be extended to cover the 18th C. look and comment there (http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=288051).)
