I've been collecting miniatures & ideas for skirmish rules for awhile now for a Prehistoric Pulp setting.
I'm a big fan of E.R.Burroughs & J.Verne and as a kid I watched the original Land of the Lost whenever it was on, so I guess I'm not surprised to find myself doing this project. I wanted to wait until I got some progress on it before posting it here as such- mostly because I know I can easily get distracted by other projects and backburner an idea.
The introduction to it is rather long, with some fun and silly pictures, so if you'd like to see the beginning of it you can find it on my blog here:

But in the interest of space I won't copy the whole thing over into this.
The jist is a skirmish game where each player controls a hunting party of a sentient species: cavemen (us) neanderthal, australopithecus sapien, great apes, yeti, gigantopithecus.. or one of the 2-3 dinosaur men species I have planned, or the planta, a plant-based sentient species. In addition to your opponent there are also non-player threats of a variety of beasts. Each species will have some different abilities to make their gameplay unique.
I've posted on this site for the planta, giant gorilla and the raptors and a caveman party started the whole thing earlier this year with an LPL round.
Here's some group pictures of what's been finished so far. and if you'd like to see some w.i.p and individual posts on them you can find them on the blog under the 'prehistoric pulp' tag. I'll try to update here with future progress too

Lovely work :-* I did something a few years ago and used LOTO High seas tweaked for tribal warfare and used scenarios form Necromunda etc.
-
Lovely looking stuff. :-* Makes me want to break out my Lost World stuff again.

Trees are top notch. Really big and prehistoric looking. How did you make/where did you get them from?
-
Little flower guys make me think they will have a "berry berry" good time ;)

Very nice. I am looking forward to seeing more!

It looks lovely that table and miniatures. I think the trees are mostly of the aquarium or terrarium variety. As use a lot of that stuff myself i recognize some of them. It's great to use for 28mm rpg and there's a huge sellection of different ones (not only trees but rocks and hills with caves, asian temples and very nice houses) from various brands. Cheers

Thanks all :)
Yes, the trees are from a Pet Store. -the first aisle I head to when making pet supply runs is the aquarium aisle, though I have no fish ;)
I have a ton of terrain from this source, all very fun pieces.

Beautiful terrain! :-* Thanks for sharing.

I was just looking at these pics again to see the cave men. Are they copplestone? When I noticed the t tex peeking in on the action in the background. Love it. Great set up. It really made me smile.

That's what caught my attention also. The T-rex looking through the foliage. Is it a Schleich or Papo?

Smokezombie: yes, the cavemen are Copplestone- very fun to paint, great sculpts.
Legion: the Trex is from Papo, when not in action on a battlefield he sits by my computer monitor :D

Ahh, how lovely, mine also roams around my recycled wooden desk looking to pick a fight. Perhaps i soon will, inspired by your project put him or her to good use. Before i bought this one i was a fan of Schleich but i think the ones from Papo are on average a bit better.
