I got two of the new Dust SSU tanks. First impression is that they are big and have a few bits that can break off. especially the tracks which are the same plastic and lose, not glued or a solid piece. Feel like they can break off.
Here are shots with a Tamyia 1/48 KV2

If they were sized up against an IS-3, what scale would they be?
-
Sorry, The biggest tank I have is the IS-2.

It's pretty much a straight up math question. Measure the model and compare to the life-size measurements.

Just saw this on TMP, concerning their use with 28mm figures:
This is a really nice model! I was worried about the size, thinking it might not really be that wide, but it is great. I am intending to use it with my Copplestone Neo-Soviets and think it will be perfect. Of course the tank commander is 1/48 and too big compared to the Copplestone figures but I don't need to use him. It looks good next to the Old Crow half-track I bought to go with them as well.
As a model it is just my speed – that is, mostly put together already! ;-)
The tracks do seem a bit flimsy – they have a bit of movement. The guns switch out easily though I will probably just stick with the conventional tank gun – I am so glad it is a realistic calibre! (The KV-1 version suffers from Warhammeritis unfortunately – though perhaps the cover art is deceptive.)
I read somewhere someone wondering how he was going to paint the tracks as they are pre-assembled and painted the same olive green as the hull. Isn't it common to paint the tracks on tanks? And so one could just hightlight with worn metal and add rust sand mud, perhaps to the links(?)

Bah, scale is unimportant the look counts...
;) ;) ;)
And these babies look way too big for my taste! :?

I like 'em! But it looks like the tracks touch the hull!!

the four barrels one is simply great! I wonder about the dioramas gonna come soon!

Well, from experience with the DUST walkers, they do tend to have small fiddly bits that break off if you but look at them in the wrong way.
