Very nice indeed, who is the sculptor?.
Paul
-
Martin Baker sculpted them for me, third time lucky!
-
Awesome stuff John. Expect my order in time for Salute! I think the guys here are going to be in raptures over these :D
-
Very nice.
-
Very nice.
Martin Baker's sculpts just keep on getting better.
-
Dont dilly dally, get them cast and onto my painting trolly!
Tally Ho!
-
Great figures, Martin Bakers sculpting is improving tenfold every figure I see, these are top notch
-
Fantastic! As soon as these are available you'll have my order. Looking forward to the rest of the collection too (Thunderchicken rapidly dehydrates through drool loss).
-
Beautiful!
Now, are they nearer Black Scorpion or Perry size?
-
Great stuff.
I think the Moriarty figure is going to become one of theose VSF classics that everyone is going to want.
Nice to see the home service figures and jaeger - they are about as near perfect as we could wish.
The only one I'm not sure about is the steam powered mechanical man - not chunky enough for my taste.

No more details of this range yet on the website. I think us Lead Adventurers may be the first people to see the greens.

Thanks. Google barfed on the URL for some reason.
-
Consider them sold!
-
Young Mr Baker is just getting better and better. I really like all of them. :)
-
the home service troops look great!
-
Looking forward to seeing them in production.
Any more thoughts about the design competition ?
-
The Moriarty is just vibrant - I'm looking forward to getting him. The other versions of him that are around are kind of scrawny.....
-
Any other personalities planned ?
Perhaps Churchill at Sydney Street or Fu Manchu might be suitable subjects ?
-
Some VSF figures I really like at last, always have to resist getting a steam tank when I pass the stand at shows, going to be harder to resist now.

 Quite true!
Especially when it's supported by those splendid mechanical Prussians! 8)
-
Holy $@*#!
Those are wonderful!
My only concern, will there be additional poses for the troops?
-Tommy
-
OK, I just read the bit about the initial release being 40 figs (albeit with a smiley). If it's even half that, I'm peeing my pants in anticipation.
-
Thank you for your kind comments, I will pass them on to Martin.
In answer to some of your questions.
The figures are closer to 28mm
Yes we have plans to do characters there will be several on the initial release.
Sorry about misleading you on the amount of figures we hope to release, it's actually closer to 50, if all goes well!
As soon as I can, I will post a list on the website of the first figures to be released.
Please feel free to continue putting forward suggestions for characters, figures, etc. Most of the suggestions from the previous thread will be taken up, not sure about the Turkish steam powered elephant though!
-
Please feel free to continue putting forward suggestions for characters, figures, etc.
Wheeled, un-armoured, steam-powered artillery tractors/limbers, with seats on either side of the limber section for the gun crew to sit on (read The Difference Engine for this concept).
Troops in fatigue order - useable as dismounted vehicle crew s or maintenance units.
-
I look forward to it all.
Do you have a U.S. retailer or do international orders go through Ironclad?
-
At the moment there is no U.S.A. retailer.
http://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/
-
Please feel free to continue putting forward suggestions for characters, figures, etc.
Vehicle crewmen, weapons crew [eg gatlings, pom-poms etc]
Harry Flashman look-alike in several guises.
Mad Professor.
Evil Pantomime Spy.
Unflatteringly stereotypical British, French & Prussian Generals
Her Majesty [Gawd Bless 'Er] without shotgun.
Holmes & Watson in "town dress" [as opposed to deerstalkers, Norfolk jackets etc]
Inspector Lestrade.
Suitably thuggish minions, for Prof Moriarty to employ.
That will do for now, although I'm sure I could think of several more
-
If we're being treated to a Moriarty, can we have a Colonel Sebastian Moran and his killer air-rifle as well? That would be aces.
-
The Baker street irregulars, Mrs Hudson, female reporters with typing machine, Professor Challenger
Irene Adler, the king of Bohemia
Phileas Fogg & co. (I have in mind the characters from Jules Verne Secret Adventures)
Unarmed naval crews [suitable for tanks, vessels deck and bridge duty]
-
Professor Challenger
Yes! And the rest of the Lost World party. The book one. Not the crap one off telly.
Unless you really want to sculpt a Veronica model. I wouldn't mind that.
-
What everyone else said, plus:
Troops
Riflemen in the sealskin busby (haven't seen them listed). Don't forget a "running with rifle at the trail" pose.
Drummer/Buglers for the Guards & Infantry, Buglers for the Rifles, Pipers for the Scots.
I may be alone with this one, but I'd really like a General Service Wagon in 28mm.
Characters
Highland companion for Her Majesty (Gawd Bless 'Er!)
Aging mounted general in bicorne
Wishful Thinking
All figs would be available with either Lee-Metford OR Martini-Henry. Perhaps more realistically, just Line Infantry.
Thanks for asking!
-Tommy

not particularly these miniatures, very very nice by the way, but what has really got me dumbfounded about figures in this theatre/period is the lack of firing poses. when I was a kid I was always perturbed by all the guys standing there pointing a gun at nothing wishing there were more advancing/at ease/sentry type poses but it now seems to have swung right around the other way.
-
May I add more?
1.- cycling figures: policemen, Sherlock Holmes et co., cycling ladies
2.- mounted ladies and other suitable figures just walking in the Parks
3.- Scots highlanders in kilts plus a band / drums and pipes
4.- Prussian band
5.- sentries
6.- vendors, tradesmen etc , servants and sitting people
-
Like Svennn, I like a variety of Poses. RAFM set the standard with their Space: 1889 figs. A "Company" of 20 had 10 diffferent poses:
Mounted officer
Officer firing pistol
Officer gesturing to troops
Colour Sergeant
Sergeant
Corporal
Private standing firing
Private kneeling firing
Private loading
Private charging
They only missed the boat by not including the standard "advancing" pose, which is by far the most utilitarian, or a drummer.
I can't wait to see how many poses we'll get for each type, but at least we know we'll get Guards & line infantry advancing. That's enough to guarantee a large order from me!
-Tommy
-
John has just been up here at Musketeer HQ to cast off the first batch of master's. All I can say is that you're all in for a treat when you see whats coming. The figures look even better in the metal too!
-
Please feel free to continue putting forward suggestions for characters, figures, etc.
Well, since you asked...
I may be in the minority here, but I like kneeling figures. Unfortunately, they are always in one of two poses, either firing or set to receive cavalry. In period photo's, however, they're usually in more of a "ready" stance. I'd love to see two figures (one front rank, one rear) in this pose:
Here's another example (I love this picture):
But, like I said, I'm probably in the minority.
So we've seen a Guardsman & Line Infantry, which leaves room for:
Highlanders:
Highland Light Infantry:
Although I'm not sure if they should have the shako or helmet. What year are you aiming for? 1890 is nice(hint! hint!)
Rifles:
Fusiliers (I'd love to see an officer in cap as well):
As for characters, I'd love to have a Guards Officer in this frock coat (albeit mounted):
That'll do nicely for now. Will get back to you with requests for cavalry once the infantry is painted up.
Thanks!
-Tommy

Guess I am buying some Huns next, eh? :freak: The memsahib shan't like that at all... ah well, she'll get over it.
After all, I bought her a pool.
-
I would surely love a good mini of Her Majesty, minus the shotgun, as mentioned by someone else previously.
Some nice schutztruppen/seebattalion types would be good too. I haven't found any that I am in love with yet.
Generic rocket packs/wing sets for attachment to figures?
More poses for the mechanical man.
Steam-powered horses for cavalry.
Zeppelin crew - possibly sort of generic so could be for any flying ship nationality.
-

Idem for Polizeitruppe minis, i.e. West africa german askaris without these damned neck shade ! but with Fez, short jacket, sash and barefeet, like that :
That's would be great if they could be as awesome as your greens
meow,
Matt

On the request side, I always think having a few more ladies of various countenances and costumes is a good thing: proper ladies, demimondaine, an old lady or two and perhaps that young lass with the wrench who's such a comfort to her father and great inventor of Thorpingscone Steamworks.
The come in very handy for those of us who use our miniatures for roleplaying games as well as wargames.
-
bicycles please, i want bicycles!! no riders, just the bikes!! i have plans....
-
The new miniatures are on the website.
For sale from Salute onwards (19th April)
http://www.ironcladminiatures.co.uk/
Not a period I have any interest in at all....no really...... must resist.......
-
 Outstanding! They look even bette than the greens did!
-
Very nice! "4 random figures per pack" implies multiple poses, but I wonder just how many different poses each uniform variant we can expect?
No matter, since I'm in for more than I can really afford anyway!
-
"No matter, since I'm in for more than I can really afford anyway!"
I know exactly what you mean there - not helped much by the £3.00 each on the personalities either

Oh my, I wish I were at Salute.
Impossible, I must save money to buy some of these chaps, too!
-
My pre-order is in!
-
Unfortunately I am unable to order these... :( Until I see a photo of the "Thugs" pack. Only then can I decide which packs to order :)
-
Just a thought, but how about a cadet force ?
Slightly smaller figures for schoolboys (Eton Style) with rifles.
Possibly commanded by a teacher in gown and mortar board.
Quite a few Victorian/Edwardian schools had a cadet force (some schools still do) so they might be handy to repel invaders.
Plus they might be useful for eg Dr Who players wanting to shoot scarecrows.

Photos now up; my order sent in :)
-
Love the men in bowler hats.
-
I've just added them to my favorites in my internet browser.
This is gonna get me into trouble
-
Just ordered a few, hopefully Mr Ironclad you will produce some half figures to inhabit the open cupolas on my various contraptions, and a nice chap with a cricket bat!
Tally Ho!
-
I picked up some of the Brit infantry, naval boarding party and automations at Salute. They are excellent figures and I'll be ordering more as soon as my wallet has recovered. Best bit is, there's more to come!!
-
Neil, how doe the Ironclad minis scale in with other ranges?

They are spot on Dave with evrything we already have. They are slightly shorter than Redoubt and slightly taller than Paroom. A perfect fit :)

Oh well, it looks like I will have to exercixe my credit card soon .....

You know it makes sense :) You won't be disappointed they are delightful figures.
-
Yep, they are bang on Sir H. Looking forward to painting them. I've got some pics of the Pullman for you and will e-mail them tomorrow.

Saw the range at Salute. Very nice miniatures, and as the photo's on other threads confirm, the painted examples were lovely
Currently still resisting.....
