I have started an army of almoravids for Impetus, using the lovely minis from Legio Heroica.
I´ve always had a fascination towards these veiled warriors of the desert (Maybe the parades of "Moros y cristianos" that I always watched as child when I was on the coast region are the cause of this...and the book about El Cid that I have always read at my grandma´s home ;)) so what was intended to be a little DBA army has evolved in a bigger Impetus one... ;D
Here the first 3 units of S:

These are my seconds 15mm ever, and on the other ones I used "betuneado" (it´s like dipping) because I was afraid of the tiny size of the fellas. Therefore I´m glad I managed to paint these "normally", since I don´t like dipping that much :D
-
Very nice Clearco. I thought they were 28mm with your paint job! I particularly like the clothing work.
-
Great work, really effective :)
-
impressive paintjob on 15mm, great work!
-
Thanks! I´m very glad you like it!
Next I´m painting an unit of heavy infantry :)
-
Clearco! Good to see you over here! :)
Pretty amazing work of yours, they're really characterized with a flavour of authenticity. Superb!
-
¡Gracias, Suber! I´m happy you like them!
I´m also pleased to see you here by the way :)
-
Really impressive. :-*
-
Nice work Clearco. Excellent units.

Thanks for the comments!
Today, the black guard:

The photos are rather dark so the highlights on the black robes are not so easy to see as on the flesh :P
The officer is a conversion: I made a sword out of a spear (hammering and hammering :D) and made a helm for him.

:-* :-* Lovely!!
Where did you get the flag?
-
Thanks! The flag and the shield transfers are from LBM :)
-
Can't find the words, they're impressive :o :o
-
Thanks, Suber! :) I hope I manage to paint another spearmen unit for next week.
-
As promised ;) :

:D

I can't manage to understand how you can achieve such level of detail on these tiny minis :o.
-
Thanks! I´m the first to be surprised, if truth be told lol
I thinks the LH sculpts are mainly responsable of the paint job ;) They are simply a joy to paint.
-
I'd be delighted if my 28mms looked anywhere near as good as those!
-
Thanks Elk101!
I managed to paint a few more, I was very busy these weeks. They are not my best but I have to like them ;):

Oh, man! That effect is AWESOME! :o
-
I'm loving these! Very, very nice mate.
-
Thanks! :)
Now I want to add dust in every unit of the army ;D
-
Is it cotton and spray or have you done something else?
-
It´s cotton but since I don´t have spray, I dipped it in water with paint and let it dry. It came too white so I brushed a bit of paint and spread it on the cotton rubbing with the fingers :)
-
Lovely. I don't game 15mm but I want to buy some now!
-
Thanks Phyllion :)

Lovely touch with the dust!

Lovely touch with the dust!
Absolutely - super cool :)
-
Wonderful paint job and I love the dust!
-
Ain't those lovely? :-*
-
Really great looking mini's. Well done indeed.
-
Thanks to all! :)
-
Excellent. :D I came onto this topic wondering about multibase 'dioramas' for other games like Hail Caesar and Kings of War, and you've made my mind up for me. Cavalry is brilliant.
-
Thanks a lot!
The visual aspect of Impetus was one of the main things that appealled to me. I like how you can "break" the linearity of other basing arts and make it more lively, more organic ;) I recommend to give the diorama basing at least a try :)

:-* :-* Very nice and the idea with the dust behind them is great
