Since Mongoose posted their artwork for the new Mopad model I decided to post a few pictures of my still very much in progress trash-bashed Mopad. Still a lot of detailing to do and I'm still working on suitable wheels.
The body is an acrylic display case and it includes toy parts, plastic bird feeders, candy containers, and other junk.

That is fabulous. What have you used for the front portion? Looks like a mishmash of various pieces but I've been struggling to find suitable curvy pieces.
-
That's the kind of creativity that I admire! Making such pieces come along and create a full set! Congrats!

Not sure what Roebeast has used, but I would suggest detergent bottles, they seem to have a variety of curved shapes available.
Take a look in the kitchen and bathroom.... ;)
-
Superb...and it may just be me but the front looks a little like Hammerstein from the Ro-Busters era?
-
Wonderful, definately has the right 2000AD feel to it.
-
You have nailed that Roebeast. Im looking forward to seeing further progress.
-
Like Old Goat, I saw the front and immediately thought of Ro-Busters era Hammerstein. It's great, and I can't wait to see it painted! Man it would have been cool to have seen some mo-pads in the Dredd movie...
Has anyone attempted a Helltrekker wagon at all, does anyone know? Seems to me that'd be a great scenario for a skirmish game.

The front section is made from an acrylic display dome that came with a micro-scale remote control truck and the pieces that go around the side are from a submarine model. The cockpit is a Kung Zhu Battle Armor. I used the yellow one as shown here: http://www.amazon.com/Zhu-Special-Forces-Battle-Armor/dp/B0039LVHZY/ref=pd_sim_t_7
The orange parts on top are from toy dump-trucks, the red bit is from a robot candy dispenser.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments. Next step I'll be adding some ground effects and wheels.
-
Is that a splattered dog on the front?
If so nice touch.

Nope just shoddy putty work. Are there even dogs in MC1?
-
That really is great. I only wish I had half as much success as I tried to turn piles of old packaging and whatnot into works of art!
All the dogs got eaten, I think.
-
Love it! All it needs are the wheels.
-
Loving this. When it is complete, please get in touch. We would love to do an article on this model for Planet Mongoose or something similar...
-
HOLY GRUDD !!! DROKKING AWESOME !!!
-
I've got four Kung Zhu armour things (found them in £ Stretcher for 99p each) under my stairs waiting for conversion into vehicles. I will definately try using one as the cab of a larger vehicle. Thanks for the inspiration

That is totally rockin'!

Nice work, definitely has the right 'bulk' to it. Am looking forward to the final piece.
