Two days ago my own lasercut windows arrived! After trying several other options including scratchbuilding, plastics, parts from the bitsbox etc. I had them lasercut from my sketches for an upcoming AWI-project.

Aren't they nice? Andy Slater of Terragenesis fame has his own new service running now and you can order the windows for very competitive prices here:

He's a very nice guy, provided a first class service and delivered the pieces well packed in a sturdy tin within a week. I'm really looking forward working with the new windows ...
;D

Every bits box should have a pile of these!!

Aren't they almost too small!?

Not for frontier stuff or the non city buildings of the American Revolutionary War (refuse to call it AWI >:(). Insulation etc wasn't really big back then and glass was damned expensive so windows tended to be rather small.

Hi Michael,
these window frames look cleanly cut and seem to fit perfectly. I'm looking forward to the improved version of your AWI fram.
Cheers

Very useful ;)

Very nice.
Hmm, I've been wanting some Orthodox crosses (with three crossbars vs the usual single on Western crosses) for use in graveyards and on Russian churches, a bit of custom lasercutting might be in order. Trouble is, I only need about a dozen!
-
I was unaware that Andy was doing these. All I can say is when I get over there I am placing an order.
Snitchy sends.

That's not a problem if you're okay for me to then list the design so others can buy it.
One of the problems that I face at the moment is knowing what people want. I could spend from now 'till eternity designing and listing stuff only to find that it isn't quite what people want. Much better for me if people ask for stuff; if one person wants it then chances are that others will too.
Contact me via my site and I'll see what I can do for you. :)

I'd have no problem with any design we come up with being sold afterward, and there's enough Russian Civil War and/or Eastern Front WW1/WW2 gamers out there I'm fairly sure you could interest people.
Message sent, and welcome to LAF, by the way!

It pays to advertise! Combined order of a rowboat and some windows in from me and chairface, items despatched. Just in time to equip some rustic buildings with window frames for the Hotlead convention at the end of March.

Yes, with fantastic communication from Andy all the way! Highly recommended

Also fantastic communication after my off-the-cuff comment upthread about Orthodox crosses - there are now plain Orthodox crosses available on Andy's site, after a few days of the two of us emailing back and forth.
It's a 25mm high, 12mm wide version of this:

Could be of interest for Russian Civil War, or Eastern Front in either World War.
-
I've been meaning to tell you about the products. Top notch quality with fast service. I will buy from Andy again.
-
I never did post a link to the Russian Orthodox crosses Andy made for me, did I?
Here's a pic on my workbench, before the flocking went on:

A bit more detail over on the blog (http://www.warbard.ca/2013/03/15/the-workbench-this-week-15-march-2013/).
I still have half a dozen of the crosses left, and two of the little rowboats.

Did you sneak into my basement to take that pic. My workbench looks near exactly the same, even with some of the same figures!!!!!!!!! :o

Are you telling us you have a Cossack riding the hood of a vintage car sitting on your desk too? ;D

You be the judge:

Ah, someone noticed him. I was prepping the Cossacks and leaving the riders lying in the top-right corner of my cutting mat when I realized they'd probably balance on the hood of the RAFM car... and they did. That amused me enough to leave him there for a day or two until I got around to finishing the prep!
You be the judge:
Ahem. Now you're cheating. Take your own pics! ;)
