Title: Crimson Skies in 20mm
Post by: Gunbird on March 11, 2013, 10:32:19 PM
A continuation of a previous build I did. >>  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=36382.0

More progress on the Bf-105's. Tails cut, wings clipped, plugs inserted in the cockpit area, wire guns ready to be trimmed. Need to drill the cannon nose on nr 2 and add plastic spacers on both of their noses so the prop sits in the right place. Coming along nicely.

Will those be Reich aircraft or some freelancer´s? If the latter or maybe even if first:

Good job on those. I don't want to be boorish, but I think they look a little too much like the originals still though. Maybe if you changed the prop and spinner and/or the cockpit canopy, it might add to the design and make it more unique than it already is?

@Marcus: Just the original Crimson Skies rules.

@Arlequin: I'm building John Pattersons designs in 1/200 in 1/72 and I'm trying to stay as close to the originals as possible. Giving these winglets is already a big change, and in the future I wan't to copy more of his work. The only problem bits are the cockpits as he liked them fancy and I am limited by what the kits give me as I want it all to be easy to replicate in the future, if I need more.

@Michi: thx.

I don't know a lot about Crimson Skies, other than having played the console game... so I missed the point there. We'll lay the blame with Mr Patterson in this case then.   ;)

The other images, models and such that I've come across are really different, while that one is so... erm Messerchmitty.  :?

Looking forwards to seeing this project develop though.  :)

@Marcus: yup, the boardgame rules

@Arlequin: What Bezzo said. I have a thing for the Zeppelin fighters that actually look like they could fit in and are designed for that sort of work. Though John has made quite a few very different designs that I want to copy. It is a pity his website is no longer online (not even with the wayback machine I'm afraid) else I could show you. But I will copy designs from the board and videogame as well, don't worry.
