The apparatus that Mr. Maurice is wearing enables him to breath in regulated amounts of Professor Cleethorpe's, Sensory and Muscular Enhancement Gas or SMEG for short. This in turn gives him the strength to the operate the portable Gatling gun he is firing.

Great painting, Phil.
Love the red of the coat, perfect. :-*

Very nice Phil. I think the Brits could do with his support on Mars :)

I like that 8)
What terrain is the base for?

Professor Cleethorpe insists there's no better cure for a lack of vigour than breathing in his SMEG.
I, on the other hand, am doubtful.
lol
Great painting on a great and imaginative miniature. Hats off sir!

Thanks for the comments chaps. James, the base is hopefully a pretty nondescript go any where base, always think that basing up VSF stuff is difficult as the terrain they operate in can vary greatly. Base is Inscribe Raw Umber drybrushed with Vallejo beige brown, cork brown and dark sand.

Certainly need something to stop those wretched Martians :)
-
Rather good Phil :)

Liking the miniature,
But doesn't it make him a smeg head?
-
Lets hope his rebreathing equipment is working well. No one needs a face full of SMEG.
Great painting by the way.

Yup have to say it does not feel right without any, funny how we get conditioned by "fashion".
