I painted these up for Studio Miniatures last week and just finished off the bases so took a quick pic of them on my desk top. Next week (tomorrow morning in fact) I'll be starting the command set and once everything's done I'll take better photo's.
Nice chunky models, clean sculpting, single piece casts, can't go wrong!

By the way, Studio's website was down for a little while but it's back up and running now.

They look good!
When will they be on their website?

Not sure but I imagine it shouldn't be too long.
-
They do look like they'd be fun to paint.
-
They are the dogs doda's. I love 'Em. ;D

Do you think they will sit well with the Foundry range?
Darrell.

Nice figs and your painting is superb as always :-* :-* :-* Wish they would get around to the Boxers

Those are great, and the painting :-*

Not too sure. Might be a touch on the big side compared to old Foundry but really not sure how more recent Foundry stuff would measure up.
Thanks for the comments everyone, always appreciated. :)

Will have to check out Studio's site.
Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely delicious paintjobs. Just perfect.

Really nice. Looks like I am going to have to ad to my hordes of NWF tribesmen. :-*

From TMP: their new website has gone 'live':

Should be OK then as the Foundry range is quite old- thankfully as their newer stuff is bloomin' 'orrible!
May well have to order some of these when they are available.
Any idea who the sculptor may be?
Darrell.

They look a bit like Soapy's work to me...same sort of hands, same sort of cloth sculpting...

Cheers Andy. Looking more closely I think you are right mate.

I finished the command models during the week so here's a group shot of everything.

I added the flag myself and took quite a bit of artistic licence with the design. Bit of a cheat too as I used a decal. ;)
I'll add more images to my web site when I get the chance.
Oh, and here's a quick size comparison with an old Foundry model. A little chunkier and taller but would probably sit ok on the same table top.

Great looking minis and great painting!! :-*
I like the leader's pose a lot.

Very nice looking figures, very nicely painted. Looking at that size comparison with the foundry figure it suggests they would be compatible with the Empress Jazz Age afghans. Although the musket carrying troops would not work for the 3rd Afghan War the Knife men and command would fit, especially with a couple of hands chopped off and replaced with Webleys and Lugers.

Beautiful paintwork on excellent figures :-*

They're in Studio's store (http://www.studiominiatures.com/shop/empire/northwest-frontier.html) now. :)

I want a set to splash with color, nothing like some very fine casted, clean detailed figures to work with once in a while. Your painting is nicely done with a great choice of colors.
