Nice work mate :)

Oh, what a nice take on that topic and beautifully painted - congratulations!
However, I am just fighting against a serious attack of uniformitis....
Sorry, not Your fault, You did not make the miniatures.
the use of the Niederbieber type helmet in this "late roman" context is so wrong in many ways....
first of all, one can not combine it with the "Spangenhelm" type, which is the truely late roman one;
then, the old interpretation of the Niedebieber type as cavalry helmet is very much disputed, with sound arguments;
and last but not least it is clearly the helmet of a heavily armoured soldier that would make very little sense if the rest of the body protection is a cloth tunic and a shield. The late roman military doctrine went - heavily armoured cavalry and lightly armoured infantry..
Sorry again, no intention to criticize Your paintjob, just the "tag" of the miniatures, which are nicely sculpted btw

What a great addition to your army – which's already an impressive sight. Well done!
Do the models come with quivers? They are a nice touch, anyway.
Personally, I like the mixed gear. But then again I don't think evidence allows us to make any clear cuts of what equipment was worn/carried by whom at any particular time and place. My POV, of course. :)

I hear you former user and all good points, Cheers. I do like the mix of gear in this range however as Mad Doc Morris has already pointed out, I think it's meant to be a bit of a cross over. I don't know how accurate it is but I fell in love with it so much it made me spend my hard earnt dosh :P.......I probably wouldn't have got into Lateish Romans if it wasn't for this one factor alone lol.....we're all nuts.
Oh and yes the figs come with quivers.

I did not want to comment on Your choice of taste sorry.
if You like them like this it's as fine as everything. They surely look good and are excellently painted.
I only wanted to give some professional advice
PS
(evidence allows us to make any clear cuts )
Yes it does, and it is called archaeology. Though I will admit that it does not always work, but in this case it does....

Speaking as a 'professional' here as well I'd say: Let's not go there. ;)
Back to tarty's excellent paint-job.

well then dear colleague, the only debatable issue here could be the definition of "late Roman" ;)
or we could get really groundbreaking and revise the whole concept of typology, relative chronology and scientific dating.
Maybe we could publish a paper on that what do you think! ;) ;)

Kudos @Tarty
You've got an amazing blog !

Thanks former user....I never thought I was the kind of person to get into running my own blog, but it is quiet good fun. Cheers !
