The way I plan to base all models- saga or for War and Conquest will see me able to use these models as well- but given the large pose variety they work better I feel as a loose warband.

Im thinking of going back and doing the eyes on all of them early next year.

Having a brother in law as a photographer is really useful.

Post by: Nevyen on May 04, 2014, 02:40:26 AM: Hi there - depth is 60mm and its for Hail Caesar - we don't go for the 24 figure unit size and just focus on the unit frontage - so that base is a unit - or more roughly 12 figures is a unit - but the way im basing i can reduce a little more and work on theme. I believe this works for Impetus as well :)

It still gives a good sense of size and scale - even with the reduced number of figures - there are a heap of shots on my blog of recent games -

Also thinking about collecting some orcs for a fantasy army to fight these guys- trying to find a range i like.

For years I have had the thought of doing a Hrolf Kraki or Ragnarok scenario with an army of monsters and undead against Vikings.... But like you, I have not found a range of Orcs (or Goblins) that I like.

I think the LOTR minatures might do it .... but not sure on size comparison - its hard to find orc's that would match a dark ages feel.

Next lot of saxons are soon to be painted, more fryd for the army are on the painting table but im also working on some Greek Hoplites and some ECW at the moment.

I get my vikings from foundry, gripping beast,crusader and also Shieldwall miniatures- for the Saxons Foundry, some gripping beast, musketeer miniatures and crusader miniatures.

I've got a big pile of Vikings I'm working on; I've got a couple of longships for them, but I need some other terrain. I think I'll pick up some of those 4ground buildings.
