Title: LOTR/Warhammer-ish Skirmish Batrep
Post by: Vinlander on April 16, 2013, 12:53:12 PM
Hi lads,
After several years of lurking around here I suppose its finally time I contribute something besides my inane comments ;D  A friend of mine, due to various unforeseen circumstances, has been away from his website for some time now and to celebrate his triumphant return to the internet we decided to have a fantasy type game set in the warhammer world but, using the LOTRSBG rules (a favourite of mine). The report being his first update in two years! A cracking game as it turned out, now presented for your delectation and delight:

The game was played over at mine so its all my stuff you're looking at.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!!  ;)

Nice one. And what gallant heroism by good Captain Dieter. A true son of the Empire.

good battle report- once I had figured how to navigate your website. An interesting idea to use LOTR for warhammer skirmish. I might have to give that a try.

Cheers lads,
LOTR is one of my go-to rules sets for skirmish gaming. Its easy to pick up, gives a very engaging game (unless you play it according to GW's tournament play marketing paradigm in which case you will have so many models on the table that it will bog down >:()  and can be adapted to almost anything with a little thought. I didn't bother with points balance or anything for this scenario, just fudged a few stats and it worked out fine (Capt. Dieter for example is based on Boromir). I'm hoping to get a small Goblin warband finished in the next week or so who's chieftan is rumored to have a taste for pork...

@Rob: The batrep is actually on my friend's website. His layout is a little odd but it works. You should check out the rest of it, particularly the ACW naval games.  ;)
