Hi guys
My lovely Perry friends were sent some photo's of this beautiful diorama...
inspired by a Don Troiani painting...
and made by Petri Kovanen from Helsinki

I thought I would share it with you

This is a beautiful work of art. I wonder whether the piece of wood is of a certain origin that is related to the depicted scene.

WOW! This diorama is really beautiful. I like the painting style and flags are one of the best I have seen so far! :-*

By the way…it was really a pleasure to meet and talk to you at the Salute. Hope to see you in Hamburg next year ;)

That is gorgeous, hope we get to see more of Petri Kovanen's work. Don't know what I like about it most, everything is brilliant. Love the mounted officers, but that drummer's face and hair is peerless.

It is true , the more you look at something the more 'squeaks' you see but I don't think they distract to much from the beauty of this model plus the quality of painting and use of colour is superb ... I hope he does more.

A LPL champion is someone who managed to finish 5 painted miniatures a week over 10 weeks and to a very good standard including good photography. It has nothing to do with a beautiful diorama like this.

The addition of the adjective "instant" in this case is meant to imply that the author of said beautiful vignette is regarded as capable of aforementioned task without participating.
Simply as a statement of opinion in the eyes of the poster, me.
