Cracking work Brax :)
-
Oh, tricky, tricky....
-
Really tough, had to call it on the setting.
-
these two are the closest this round. Both entries are beautifully painted.
-
the shadow gives an extra unconscious edge to the tough choice! o_o
Great work to both!

How do you know he hasn't painted that on in some inspired moment? :P

Great stuff! Those quar are such strange things but look great here...but the painting on those archers is very sooth and I have to admit that the shadows do add something...brutal choice.

Very atmospheric Blackwolf.

Cheers mate :)

Blackwolf: What filter do you use to get that effect with your lighting? I've noticed it before and have been meaning to ask. I am assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that you use some sort of color filter to give it the very golden quality. It makes the photos very distinct and lifelike...

Thanks Mike :) No filters, just my dodgy camera skills and Australian light; I take all my photos under an awning on our terrace, setting my 10 year old SLR white balance to cloudy or setting it manually. Usually the exposure level is set to -5 or even -1.5; a lot of people think my photos too dark,I rather like it,it's become my style. I'm colourblind too, hence my sepia painting tones. So in essence it's colourblindness mixed with bloodymindedness lol.

Wow...what a difference that light coming upside down can make.... lol lol
I would have guessed some sort of yellow or gold filter -- shows how much I know about photography! Count me as one of your fans. I love the way the light gives a late afternoon glow to the shot.

You never told me You are colorblind.......
I am speechless....

Nice entry Blackwolf! I'm always impressed by your nice sepia tones. I've met a few more painters that are colorblind and am often surprised about the color cobinations that they end up with. It's often very subtle as in you case or in a Andy Warhol kind of style :) Off course you terrific backdrops are a real gems as well.
Thanks for the nice comments on my entry and the shadows. Off course I didn't paint those on ;), but when taking the picture was could not resist taking one shot like this and was pleasantly surprised with the end result so left it as it is right now.

Yes I figured ;)
nevertheless, the tonality is of Yours
again the adaptability of the human brain.....

Two great entries, guys, well done! The quar look very nice as does the armoured car accompanying them, but the highlights on those archers tilted the scales for me. Great job, braxandur.
