Hi Svinkel,

here are Braxandur's which he has entered in the Lead Painters League:

If you do a search using the menu at the top, you may well find more examples.

Cheers,
Ian

I don't have photos of my cops, but one of them is on a size comparison photo I made for my blog

@Gluteus Maximus: Are those the cops now sold by EM4? They seem to fit perfectly with the Copplestones ones

Glitzer...my german is horrible. Who makes the cars you have in the photos on your blog? That police car would be perfect for an idea i have,

The cars are from Siku (http://www.siku.de/en/) and from Hot Wheels' (http://intl.hotwheels.com/) Volkswagen Classics and G-Machines ranges. The text is about scales and why I prefer to use 1/50 with my 30mm minis.

The police car you asked is a 1/50 scale Smart from Siku, they also will release a 1/50 scale police van next month.

They aren't my figures [my painting isn't that good  :(  ], but I believe they are EM4. They were sculpted by Mark Copplestone, which is why they fit in with his own range  :)

Ian

these are based on the dutch police

Looks like most of us prefer dark tones for their cops. I also thought about painting mine like German police, but in the end I decided green uniforms with blue cars and white caps reminds me to much of the Asterix romans.

I always quite liked the colour scheme of the German Police.

Presumably they are still in the same, almost military, colours as used in the 1980s? I seem to remember the vehicles were green & white in those days [but that was West Berlin before the fall of the Wall and my memory is particularly bad   ]

The cars back then were green and white, correct. Some years back they switched to silver with green adheseive film to increase the market value of disused cars, and now they switch the green film with a blue one.

The original green car paint was indeed thought as a matter of camouflage. The white was added later because someone thought it would be better idea to have police that shows presence instead of a lurking one...

The German Wikipedia has a diagram of the colours used, it can be found  here (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polizeiwagen#Deutschland_2)

The northern German States have started to change the uniforms to blue too, the intention is to have a similar appearance of policemen through the whole EU.

Well, I think most has been poster here already. I'm not sure what you wanted in your original post? Inspiration or just to see what miniatures you have?

Anyway, I opted for a dark blue with black details and dutch markings:

Recently the dutch uniform was altered (lighter blue), but I prefer a darker colour scheme.

I think those copplestones would look great in green or black too, though black would fit some kind of corporate security better (black with a red stripe or someting like it) :)
